If Bioware were to introduce a companion character from one of the species previously mentioned in the series, who have yet to be represented by squadmates, which one would be your choice?

If you'd rather Bioware just stick with characters from the species recruited in the Shepard trilogy feel free to post that, but vote for which species would be your choice should we get a companion character from one of the species yet to be recruited.

I wish the poll allowed multiple options. Batarian, vorcha and rachni would've been my picks :)

No Drell? :(

We had Thane in ME2.

The poll is asking what 'new' species fans most would like to see represented by a companion character, if Bioware were to go that route with one of the squadmates. I'm assuming that in that scenario some of the 'old' who were previously represented by squadmates, would be returning as well. So you might for example have a Drell squaddie and one of the choices from the poll.

I think a batarian could be interesting. I don't really care about the yahg. A race that is both strong and smart and militaristic is a bit boring (IMO). Elcor, volus, vorcha and hanar were relegated to semi-joke races, I am not sure if I could take such a squadmate seriously...and we don't really know much about the other races.

I just really want to see a batarian whose actually quite nice. The Batarian Hegemony is corrupt as all hell and only allows slavers, mercenaries and terrorists to leave batarian space resulting in the negative stereotype we have of them. With the Hegemony pretty much destroyed in ME3 it gives us a chance to see a side of the Batarians we haven't seen before.

We defiantly need a bartarian, Bioware should stop making them the whipping boys of the galaxy since we only see a handful of sympathetic batarians.

Batarians in the multiplayer are just about the nicest, most polite characters I can think of right now. Maybe volus, but no other comes quite close. There's also Bray and that little convo EDI gives you on Citadel that, outside of Hegemony(or was it with it's destruction?), the batarians are actually proving to be pretty decent bunch of guys. In short, their reputation seems to be a little on the bad side, but not really all that bad. If that made any sense, which it may not have :P

That said, I'd very much like a batarian squadie who doesn't want to kill you.

Voted for awakened collector, since they intrigue me. Not sure if they are even sapient/sentient, can they even talk(once again, based on MP, it would appear not), but dammit, I want to see it.

Both a Volus and a Vorcha.  They should be best friends and the ultimate comedy team.

Ideally the Volus would be a vanguard and voiced by Lori Petty in full Tank Girl mode.

An irritable volus engineer. Keeps grumbling about everything. Or an elcor, but I am not sure how that would work.

I was one of the two people who voted for the Yahg.

I think a Yahg sqaddie could be fun just based on the lore that they'll only cooperate with others if dominance has been established over them. Yahg often interact with each other in violent stuggles for social position. That might result in some interesting interaction, since you'd probably have to fight him or her first and force the Yahg to yield. And you'd have to maintain that position of superiority over it. I thought a similar story with the Sith Inquisitor & Khem Val in SWTOR was a lot of fun.

On the other hand the thought of the horrifying fanfiction and fanart that would no doubt inspire might be enough to nix that idea. There is not enough brain bleach in the galaxy for Fifty Shades of Yahg.

The Batarians would probably be my runner-up. The Batarians have mostly been portrayed as one-note villains. Nearly every Batarian character you run across is a slaver, pirate, mercenary, thug, or hates humans. It would be fun to have a companion character who doesn't fit that mold and subverts what the fanbase has been now been conditioned to expect. The Batarians are in need of more balanced portrayal, and a companion character would best suit that role.

My selection for next game.

Female Human Engineer

Male Human Adept

Female Baterian Infiltrator

Male Volus Support (With Shield Boost)

Vorcha Vanguard (With flamer, and sprint mode instead of biotic charge)    [I don't think Vorcha have sex]

Female Raloi Soldier

Male Quarian Sentinel

Female Hanar (Melee, poison and corrosion focused character who doesn't use guns)

Well those are my suggestions. What do you think?

The poll is just about what alien species you'd like to see if Bioware introduced a companion character from one of the races who've yet to have members recruited by the player character.

The Salarians had Mordin, Tali for the Quarians, and Thane for the Drell.

A batarian, been wanting one since ME 2.  Also a collector possessed by harbinger.  So yeah basically harbinger.  Now before someone says "but if destroy was chosen" Harbinger was different than the other reapers they could just say he survived the crucible somehow.
