I'm actually in the middle of a DA Origins playthrough and was thinking about how infrequently I've romanced Zevran in comparison to the others.

In DA:I, I find it hard to summon the urge to pursue Iron Bull. He's a funny guy, he just doesn't inspire as the others do.

And in DA2, it's Isabella. Even disappointing Anders is more appealing to me than her.

And then I realized.. it's all the promiscuous characters. I guess I'm not into that. Maybe I want my character to feel adored, rather than feel like they're one of many.

So I was just thinking... what does everyone else think? Everyone's always talking about their favorite romance options, but who couldn't you care less about? And is there a reason why?

Solas. Not even once. And that's saying something, given that I hate Leliana and Merrill, but at least gave them a shot. He's a sanctimonious ****** and I hate him and his magic 8 ball head.

Zevran, Anders, and IB, respectively.

Do I hate them? No. Far from it. They're just not romance material, IMHO.

DA:O...Morrigan, I guess? I much prefer her friendship arc with a female Warden. It's tough to say really, I thought all the romances were well done. Leliana/female Warden is my favourite romance by far and away, and the only one I've actually seriously done myself multiple times and grew attached to, but all of them were decent.

DA2, probably Fenris. I would say Anders, but I liked romancing him and then killing him at the end if I was looking for angst. Fenris was just angst angst.

I really haven't done enough of the DA:I romances to know. Josephine really isn't terribly interesting to me from a romance standpoint though.

I'm sure you hate my avatar then!! lol. As much as I like him, he is a *teensy* bit overrated, I will admit. *hides*

I don't hate any of my least favorite characters either, I just don't prefer them, especially as romance options.

Lurking around on this forum, I notice a lot of people seem to feel the same way about Iron Bull.... poor Bull.

Merrill's never interested me, I think she is too...innocent(?) and she can get a bit silly and really grate on my nerves.

Zevran is just too smarmy for me I can't get past that.

I have tried romancing IB a couple of times but had to give up, for someone that's so free and casual he is just so hard to get going.

In past games Morrigan and Isabella, I just prefer their friendship paths. I find the premise of Iron Bull's romance off putting because of real life stuff so I'm never going to romance him. I don't even like talking to him.

From DAO: Morrigan. Her friendship arc is more interesting for me.

From DA2: Sebastian. Nothing wrong with Seb, but his romance is so under-developed it is practically none-existent. If we go personality-wise - Anders. I can't stand the guy, but ironically I think his romance is pretty well done.

From DAI: probably Blackwall, I might change my mind once I actually romance him, so far I only've done Cullen, Sera and Solas - and liked all of them. Blackwall is the one I am least interested in romancing at this point, however. Not sure why... just not that interested.

I like Anders' romance, but I think it's ruined by the conclusion...

I never even consider Sebastian a romance option, so I guess I should give him my "least favorite" award over Isabella!

DA:O - Alistair - I never bothered playing a female Warden + I like him more as friend.

DA II - Anders - Too corny

DA:I - Solas and Sera - I'm not an elven fan so he doesn't interest me that much also I rather have my elven Inqusitor be with someone who won't dump her as for Sera simply no.

In DAO, Leliana, actually. No particular reason really. It's just that I never bothered for an fourth game were I romance her.

In DA2: Either Anders or Sebastian. Sebastian is an bore and Anders is just.. no.

In DAI: Sera. Maybe when she grows up.

For me and all for similar reasons:

DAO: Alistair - too innocent, silly, fluffy.

DA2: Merrill - too silly, stupid.

DAI: Josephine - too fluffy, proper.

I don't go for the innocent, fluffy romance sort in life or in a game. Orientation matters not to me but, I go for the less conventional, Zevran, Morrigan, Fenris, Isabella, Anders, Dorian, Iron Bull are more my style.

Leliana - there was this false syrupy something about her and she kept ninjamancing my PCs so they didn't like to be around her

Merrill - yikes, it's like she's a teenager at best

Iron Bull - no way Jose!

(my favorite romances are Zevran/Alistair, Anders, and Cullen).

I seem to be all over the place with my romancing/not romancing

DAO: If I have to pick one it'd be Leliana. I liked the others better.

DA2: Sebastian, (if he can even be considered an LI), he's a total snoozefest. Merrill's sweet but...no. And they ruined Anders, would have loved Awakening Anders tho.

DAI: Josephine and Blackwall are just...boring and Sera's to wacky for me. If the in-game Blackwall was like Aimo's Blackwall, he'd be off this list tho.

DAO - Leliana. I hated DAO Leliana.

DA2 - Anders. Just a terrible character. Although Seb comes a close second.

DAI - Blackwall. I would never afflict any of my female characters with him.

Strangely enough, as much as I dislike Anders personally he is my second most romanced character after Fenris.) But I don't play self-inserts, so my Hawkes sometimes have different opinions.)

With Sebastian my other problem with his romance is Hawke herself. She comes at him as very aggressive, no matter the personality played and I find it very annoying. Same with Fenris, actually, but you can at least skip some first especially aggressive flirts there.

DA:O: Zervan. Its just not very intresting to me.

DA2: Merill. She's too "quriky" and gets on my nerves.

DA:I: Sera. I hate her more than any other character in Dragon Age. I feel like i'm babysitting someone's bratty kid, now fighting bad guys with my friend.

Origins, I liked all the characters so it's more who is my least favorite and that's Leliana (she was okay back then).

Dragon Age 2: At first I loved Anders then when he

Spoiler
I started to hate him and in future play throughs even though I was a mage I would say anti-mage things around him.  Unfortunately we got a rivalmance (bad move, Bioware).

Inquisition: pretty much none of them are all that.  I could play a gay male to romance Dorian, i suppose but it feels "wrong" to do that to my Velveteen Rabbit buddy.  My least favorite from an aesthetic is Bull.  I'm sorry but they made him look like Baphomet so between him and Nosferatu I feel like Rosemary or Mina.  No, no, more no.   Josephine is too damsel in distress.  Sera's okay but she hates elves so...whatevs.  Blackwall is appealing physically (BEARDSSSSSSSS) and dark hair.  I imagine myself with a grown up Jon Snow, but what bothers me is the

Spoiler
.  I end up with Cullen even though it's not my goateed rough looking Cullen of the first two, he's a Ken doll with a typical romance.

I guess I'd go with Cullen or Blackwall.  Def not Bull or Solas.  Don't want nightmares of the All Seeing Eye Horned on topping me.

For Origins I'd say Morrigan. She's not a bad character, but I really felt like her friendship arc (particularly as a male Warden) is much more satisfying. That one line at the end says it all: "I knew nothing of friendship before we met. And I will always consider you such. Live well, my friend. Live gloriously."

For 2 it'd be Merrill. She's an interesting character, but incredibly naive and foolish. She makes me laugh but she also does incredibly stupid things (rebuilding that damned eluvian for one). And on top of that, she's got the personality of a 14 year old. It seems so bizarre that she's a romance.

For Inquistion I would pick Blackwall. He's a good character, but that damned reveal changed my opinion of him too much. I thought Solas at first but I actually really like him. Though his beliefs about the ancient elves are really questionable.

DAO - Morrigan. Just meh. I befriended her with a female Warden first and my subsequent playthrough with a Morrigan romance just paled in comparison to that. Her calling the Warden a sister to her is just so much better.

DA2 - Fenris. Everything I don't want in a person.

DA:I - Bull maybe. Not my thing, don't hate him though.

If we go personality compatibility wise:

In DAO it was Zevran, flirting with him was like giving him your pinky and watching him eating up your whole arm up to the shoulder, not fun.

In DA2, not sure actually....

In DAI, Blackwall, he has personality traits that I find a tad creepy.

With Sebastian my other problem with his romance is Hawke herself. She comes at him as very aggressive, no matter the personality played and I find it very annoying.

Oh, I actually like this about Hawke in this case, female PC always tend to come off rather passive in romance.

oh well, to each its own.)

I don't mind female taking the lead, I just though it was a bit too much in that particular case. But maybe it's just me.)

Anders. Nope nope noooope.

Leliana used to be this, until I found a Warden I really liked for her. Now she's my canon, despite Zev being my favorite Origins romance. :P

There are others I don't romance because I like their potential relationships/flirtations with other characters more than I do their relationship with the PC. Iron Bull x Dorian, Merrill (Carver's adorable crush on her), Sebastian (his and Bethany's flirtation)...
