DA:I's CC was pretty good, I'll admit to that, but it would have served us better if the modifications were allowed to be more drastic. There are games out there with better CC, ofc, but I supposed DA:I's was good enough.

Final confrontation was not exactly particularly memorable. I guess you could say it was memorable as far as dull was concerned.

No real comment of Fade-Touched. Had some, lacked others. Had to farm a few. Didn't really impact my gameplay.

The first time I got to Skyhold and ran around the place I was mesmerised. That first impression slowly ebbed away as I realised I couldn't really customise it the way I wanted to. By end-game, there were holes in the walls that still needed fixing, Cullen's office still had a mangled roof and a bunch of other turrets were still in ruins. That looks like unfinished work to me. I hope to see a free update that adds more customisation to the place - it sorely needs some.

War Table was a good idea, but the fact you had to be physically there meant a lot of running back and forth. A lot of time was wasted doing that. the War Table should also have been accessible via a menu. Perhaps a 'Go to War Room' button somewhere that would just teleport you there when it Skyhold, or the abilty to assign missions via messengers when you're in a camp area.

The game was rife with fetch quests. A few of them is okay, but 'collect 10 bear asses' type quests are bad, especially when you have better things to do, lore-wise I might add. The Inquisitor is not an errand boy.

I'm a bit on both minds when it comes to weapons and armour. Some I find cool, some I find dull and ugly. I mean, realistically, you would have both, but that Orlesian Battlemage armour should be considered the shame of Orlais. That thing is ugly as sin. That being said, game needed more armour models. There wasn't enough variety.

The loot seems to suffer from the same problem Diablo III had. Fuckton of items, none of it worth jack. loot was very disappointing.

Y'know what was more dissapointing? 8 skill slots. I'm currently replaying Origins and, man, DA:I should be ashamed.

  • Hairstyles (Kudos for attempting to make them unisex, but little variety and all ladies get sideburns)
  • QUNARI hairdstyles (oh wow it got worse)
  • Hair colour (wanna be blonde, ginger, black, NOT yellow, orange, blue)
  • Anticlimactic boss-battle/ending (also why the hell do you give the villian what he wants, if he comes back it will make the whole of DAI completely pointless and meaningless)
  • Rams keep running awaaaaaay
  • Despair keep dodging awaaaaaay
  • Mounts aren't even that fast, why bother
  • ...and DLC mounts still have "LOCKED" slots at the stables, so if I don't buy (another!) Logitech KB/M I will always have incomplete stables, why couldn't you only have the slots if they were installed...?!
  • Getting around takes ages, not enough little details in the environment to look at or interact with so the game space just feels needlessly inflated
  • Looting takes so looooooong oh wait I have a mod for that now, hahah
  • Fade-touched takes hours to farm and then drops the wrong type oh wait I have a mod for that now, hahaHAAA
  • Terrible pyjamas OH WAIT AHAH apparently they were gonna be tintable, but reintroducing tints they're still beige :c
  • They reduced amulet of power for all legit players to prevent SOME SOLO players from exploiting - exploit itself still there, wut
  • "Modular" areas/quests makes you feel kinda aimless, you have to 'earn' the chance to do other stuff
  • LEAVE ME ALONE REQUISITION OFFICER WHY CAN'T YOU ACCEPT A NOOOOOO
  • Slot limits meant rarely used skills (eg: focus, revives) felt clustery, mages had to either spec in one element (and suck against resistances) or just be really meh and all of them (esp if you want barrier/dispell on all mages, two slots right there)
  • We have armour dyes but no weapon dyes :c or dying for weapon mods :c Or vitaars why would I want bright yellow face-paint no this is not okay
  • Qunari armour? What is a qunari armour, you speak such nonsense you do, they don't exist
  • Why is Bianca so terrible, T4 mats on T3 schematics and does half of what a normal bow does.. Varric get gud (I now use CheatEngine to change her stats)
  • Music/banter uses randomisation that leads to long silences - and both are so rare they may as well not even be there
  • So much focus on Hinterlands make HL quests clusterf***y and tedious but areas like Hissing Wastes or Fallow Mire empty and boring by comparison (why else you need to tell people to leave HL? You put half the game in there)

Just my own opinion, if asked about the things I didn't like. Actually really enjoy the game overall, and it is easy to critique from a desk chair.

wait there's a mod already for the looting animation?

What really bothers me

The fact that I can't chose where to spend attribute points. This is around since the beginning of time. Obviously they took it out because casual COD gamers have no idea what to do with that. What a ridiculous move.

8 slots for talents/spells. 8 slots. In an RPG.

Not enough armor variety designs. I actually have to stick with being a mage also because they have the most decent looking robes/armor.

Honestly, the maps didn't have to be so big. DA is DA, Skyrim is Skyrim. Stick with what you are known for, good stories and interesting character. I felt that they wasted so much time with big areas that the main story was sacrificed and is so short. Also we had tons of fetch quests.

No cutscene when interracting with NPCs. Could have balanced both styles of interraction. Having only this one makes us disconnected to what's going on in the story/side quest. They should have learned this with ME3. (another fetch quests fest)

Hair. hair. hair. Why god why.

One more to add: those frieking specialization-quests. Who thought (again) this was a good idea? I hate them, from bottom of my heart. And people have had lots of trouble with them too, when quest has bugged and you can't obtain the needed material. Nice to get a specialisation when you are at lvl 17 har har. At the same time we have Skyhold full of companions with those specializations and obviously very stingy with knowledge, so stingy they can't be forced/briped/persuaded to teach their boss.

Yeah, this bothered me as well. I was tempted to go for the Knight Enchanter but I didn't realise I had to go to the Fallow Mire for the resources so I ended up playing as a Rift Mage.

I'm really impressed with the game in general.  It really is huge and, now that I'm used to the PC controls, am thoroughly enjoying 90% of a really big game.

For me, the 10% making me grind my teeth in frustration is related to 2 sound effects.  The waterfall sound in Skyhold's crafting area makes a trip to the bathroom mandatory before any kind of crafting (which I adore) and most loot selling.  I'd love to skip the Forbidden Oasis entirely.  Even if I do, the sound those shards makes drives me to climb impossible cliffs or spend hours jumping in circles around spires, just to shut it up.  I know the shards are there because they're marked on the minimap and area map.  I don't want to hear them whine at me.

Majority of the skills that require you to directly hit a small hitbox on the target.  (Pommel Strike for example)

When MP bosses suddenly don't die even though they have 0hp.  Looking at the Red Templar boss..  Doesn't happen alot at least (only once on my end)

MP crafting system

MP Armor  (lack of being able to craft gear with actual stats on it)

MP kick system  (As leader of group i'd like to be able to boot anyone without voting.  Let the group vote but i'm leader so my vote should be absolute)

Lack of variation in MP quest.  Lack luster to say the least.

The infinite amount of day one bugs that still riddle MP characters and their skills.

The new change to Reaver, which pretty much made her a joke.  She was a high risk high reward melee class as it should have been.  Now shes a high risk little reward easily replaced character that is never played in MP Perilous.

Kitari and Reaver skill kits in MP.  Don't get me wrong, Kitari is viable in Perilous, but he is still very lacking.

MP Runes  (Why did we get so many Runes excluded in MP?)

The fact that many end game weapons cannot be altered through MP crafting system  (They have pomels/whatever already set in stone on them)

The fact that there isn't a gear score system that is visible for other to see.  This makes puging in perilous a complete throw up.  Pray you get folks that arn't extremely undergeared trying to leech.  Good luck with that though.

Inability to customize my characters appearence.  The fact that i'm givin such a hideous doll without the ability to alter the way they look is heart wrenching.  (Keeper for example, just what sex is she/he/it?)

The slowness in which Bioware addresses game breaking bugs.  Extremely disheartening.  They had major game breaking bugs in MP for 3 to 5 months at a time.  I thought this game was made by a poor Indy Company when it was first released.

Oh yes, I've had more than my share of frustration with pommel strike on my two-handed warrior.

My two biggest pet peeves, though: 1. If you click on a mission on the war table but choose not to complete it at that time, the "new operation" mark goes away and there is no longer any way to easily distinguish it visually from a mission that you already completed.  You accumulate a lot of those markers on the map by the end of the game and it's annoying to have to mouse over them to make sure if you actually did it or if you just looked at it and then chose to complete it later.

2. Quest-breaking bugs.  Looking at you, From the Beyond.  Bioware, if you're reading this, please make fixing the game-breaking bugs which are still hanging around months and months after release priority #1!

Dumb Quests: Horse Racing, Lead the Druffalo back to its Owner, Herd The Halla and many others were dull, pointless and scream a lack of innovation in giving meaningful quests.

Oh my God. That bloody druffalo quest! >.<

Never played Dragon's Dogma, so am liking the more detailed CC we have in this series.

Liked the final ending myself; found the confrontation rather difficult for my Dwarven Archer.

Fade-Touch drops were uncommon; made crafting more challenging (Note: complaints of too soft or too hard seem conflicted).

Loved Skyhold. While it is not as detailed as it could be, it is far and away one of the better Player homes I have seen in games.

War Table is great, so I fail to use this as example of something that is terrible because it is not forced gameplay.

It seems that the Druffalo and goat quests have other options, including skipping them and combat.

My crafted armors look rather spiffy; no complaints here on variety.

Western Approach, Forbidden Oasis, and Hissing Wastes are desert areas; about a third of the total regions. Seems about right.

While not perfect, DAI is far from terrible, as are these supposed examples, IMO.

Dude, you do realise that you are trying to argue with people who didn't like particular stuff in the game and tell them that they are wrong, because you loved it?
It is a topic called "List what's terrible about DA:I" for crying out loud, do you expect people to say - 'nah, it's all good'?

Not trying to argue with anyone, Dude; simply offering one opinion vs another. However, I totally agree that constructive criticism is much better when coming from either camp. Simply stating something is terrible, awful, boring, etc without explaining why, or what would could be done to improve it seems fruitless, as does empty comparisons with other games; something I have been called on myself, and found guilty.

I'm not even going to bother mentioning the atrocious gameplay and combat controls, which I can cope with, if the rest of the game measures up. No, these are my pet peeves and the reason Dragon Age Inquisition is the last Bioware game I'll ever buy (coming from a guy who bought everything since Baldur's Gate II).

Voice acting was uniformly horrible. The bland, middle-of-the-road inflection of the Inquisitor deserves its own circle in hell, since it was a deliberate design choice. Don't believe me? Take a look at Hawke or Shepard and see how the Inquisitor measures up. Best guess is Jon Curry (voice of Zevran from Origins) was given a script with lobotomy patient as a stand-in for Inquisitor. Then again, the voice actors could hardly be expected to get excited about

the awful dialogues. Notice how little Leliane chats with the Inquisitor? Do you want to know why? Because the writers ran out of childhood sob stories and origin info dumps for that character. While past Bioware games haven't exactly been good in this respect (the best example Baldur's Gate II is over fourteen years old and the company has only regressed since), count the number of character defining moments in Dragon Age 2 and compare that figure to those of Inquisition. Which leads me to

underwritten NPCs. Give me a reason to care about them. Make them an integral part of the plot, or at least give them a narrative arc. And for ****'s sake, get rid of the approval scores and the initiate romance button (and fire the person who suggested it). After Dorian had said everything he had to say, the only thing left to do with the character was have sex, apparently, which was conveniantly only one click away. Ditto for the other NPCs, but Dorian was the first. This is just mindboggling moronic and Dorian was, up to that point, the only character I enjoyed talking to. Instead of adding color to a game, romances nowadays seem to be the reward after having put up with the perfunctory chit chat. If romances have to be part of the game (which I am not sure they should, considering how poorly they are implemented), at least I want to feel a romance is rewarding and earned. A booty button is the complete opposite. I wish I were wrong, but my guess is, when creating a character, the first thing to be written down is the sexual orientation (before name, race, class). Well congratulations for being so accomodating. I'll be over here, waiting for a game that does not have the stench of sex-crazed fan fiction. Also, lose the old characters. Their story has been told, leave it at that. The idiots screaming to know more about the Warden, Morrigan or Hawke don't know what's good for them. Thedas seems to be populated more by cameos than by genuine characters. Even worse than the companions is that the

villian is not much of threat. Games live and die by their villans and to make a DLC encounter from Dragon Age 2 the main villian who gets his ass handed to him at every opportunity is probably the worst design choice in recent memory. Combine this with a generic and suprisingly short main storyline for added effect. Then again, this also might have been delibarate such that the

Quests Chores would seem less like the unnecessary padding that they are. Who thought this was fun? Roughly 90% of the game should be cut. But apparently, epicness is measured in hours, so add another round of rifts/shards/requisitions/landmarks. Forcing me to spend more time on the side mission only illustrates how

the world is lifeless and stale. Everyone rightfully complained about the constant environment reuse and the lack of anything approaching vibrant city life in Dragon Age 2. So what's the remedy? Change the environments, but otherwise keep everything as it is. Val Royeaux is a joke compared to Flotsam from the Witcher II or even Athkatla from Baldur's Gate 2. Oh, and after gutting yet another of the inexplicably hostile bears with unmoved, uninvolved agents standing nearby, did anyone from beta dare to mention that the maps are an unimersive grinding bore?

So many things....but the ones that stand out most to me are:

1 - PC UI and KB&M controls. Worst ever,

2 - % chance for Masterworks crafting - for the love of God! WHY!!!

3 - Boring.

Inquisitor: Not enough of a back story, not enough focus on their race, and severe lack of cosmetic variety in the gear (I feel like at the very least each race should of had a specific look for their gear if they were going to be this lazy.)

Skyhold: It's still dilapidated....It's....still...dilapidated........It's....STILL.......DILAPIDATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's literally falling apart, even in finished form. It's also very claustrophobic. I was hoping it'd be a bit more palatial on the interior.

Skyhold Decoration: No Dalish decorations? No Dalish beds? Hardly any Dalish anything.

Companions: Can't genuinely interact with them once you finish the main story, not even your love interest. Also, you can only kiss them even after your relationship has become serious, which isn't a big deal but it doesn't really make any sense...But even the romantic interactions end with the main plot....So no interactions with the DLC or anything.

Keeps: They're pointless. It sounded like we'd be able to upgrade them or set them to specific roles and it would all be interconnected...Such as diplomacy based keeps, military based keeps, and espionage based keeps....But none of that was true at all, they just sit there and nothing changes.

Regions & World: They don't change enough as you fix their problems. Some do a little bit, such as Hinterlands and Crestwood but so much more could take place. They missed opportunities here to have NPC's begin to travel through, trade and commerce open up, and some new buildings and settlement taking place as keeps were captured, and zones fixed. Emprise Du Lion just stays horrible even after all the Dragon's are dealt with and the keep is captured....Crestwood has a trade road with stalls standing there, you could have travelers and merchants popping back up. I was really disappointed in this area of the game.

Operations: Amazing idea, totally uninspiring execution. It should have a more meaningful and world altering impact (in some cases, depending on outcomes.)

I would settle for the Mass Effect hair.  I still don't see how the same company that makes the Sims can't give you hair that doesn't look like your younger brother cut it while you were sleeping.

I get what you are saying and I agree about the hair, BUT DAI is not made by the same company as the Sims, DAI is made by Bioware and The Sims was originally developed by the now defunct Maxis Emeryville. These titles are merely published and funded by EA.
