5) Morrigan still refuse to die and unlike DAO i cannot kick her out of my Fortress instead i must see again the non sense at the temple "take the risk or allow to her to have more power" sort of DR, please Bioware enough with this nightmare i will take any risk so long i will deny something to your mary sue pet, you can't tempt me.

This is why DA needs to stop it with major character cameos.  All they can do with them is regurgitate the same old story with them.  It was the same with Leliana, you're back playing her babysitter, either teaching her to how to be good or convincing her to be bad.

Convince her not to kill 2 people and she ends up being a goody. Let her kill 2 people and she turns psycho. She must have been in a limbo between DA:O and DA:I if she is THAT affected by those decisions.

Perhaps not. The one that obtains the result of her mindset is an old friend; one that betrays her. If she was convinced that such a crime should be punishable by death for these rather unknown examples, she is more convinced that the same result should be applied by a greater misdeed. But forgiveness and room for redemption might gain more leeway if practiced in past encounters, however sleight those might be.

Or one could simply meta-game the mechanics, but I prefer to RP the events.

After 4 playthroughs and nearly 500 hours of gameplay I am finally done with DA:I... I plan to go back to it when DLC or expansions will be out, but for now it's enough. I cannot say that I hadn't fun with it (only a madman would spend so much time over a game that he doesn't  enjoy somehow) but this does not prevent me to see some of its flaws and to acknowledge the bothers that were more difficult to overlook during this long journey.

Basically I have 2 major complains:

- The 8 slot limit which I found a very dumb design decision. It's still acceptable if you play with a warrior or a rogue, but for mages is really constricting. And I am not buying the justification that it was done for tactical purposes. Finding and enemy, having to reload every time to change the set of abilities/spell and then fight it again was their goal for this decision? I don't find it very "tactical".. just an annoyance.

- The respawning mobs. I agree that it would be unrealistic if we could get rid of all the wildlife, especially if we consider the vastity of areas but at least wait some minute before making them reappears. Perhaps for future games they should add some perk that reduce wildlife hostility. Having to find the path to some cliffs in order to reach those shards/landmarks/astariums is enough frustrating.. no need to fight 4 times the same wolves again in the meantime.

These are mine... there are others but I can say that I was able to adapt and to overlook them. Still, I can see why many other players were not. this game is very far from perfect.

Bugs, glitches, and how hot it runs my 360 vs my other video games.

I know, it's last gen hardware working with a game focused on the new gen, but I don't have the money to afford an Xbox One. I have to stick with my 360.

The thing is, after roughly an hour of playing, my 360 is running as hot as the Devil's crotch. After 6 hours of playing on any other game I have, THEN it gets to satanic levels of heat.

Many of the bugs and glitches I don't like are results of this superheating.

Other than that, the lack of cameos or references to DA:O + DLC companions and NPCs. This does allow for the set up of DLC for DAi, but I doubt that the DA team is gonna actually take that cue. They seem focused on making new and expansive DLC, which is perfectly fine, but I wish that we could see Oghren and Sten in the new game.

That's a player's mod tho right?

Shame on BioWare when a player can out do the developers.

It shows the laziness of BioWare.

-Terrible ending
-Story is sparse because of the open world nature of the game, yes you could just play it for the story and ignore the sidequests but the sidequests are meant to be played because of the power system
-power system sucks
-Lack of meaningful and well fleshed out side quests like in DAO and DA2
-Abundance of terribly designed fetch quests
-Barely any tactical elements, AI companion behaviours are limited to only 4 slots and the options with those slots are limited as well compared to DAO and DA2
-Static world even though it's open world
-Lack of cinematic dialogue
-Forgetable side characters; probably due to the fact that we had that horrible 3rd person camera angle dialogue compared to seeing the NPCs face with cinematic facial dialogue
-Cory is a boring villain and his boss fight was inferior to that of DA2 legacy

Everything you said nails it for me. Also the bugs on release were straight embarrassing but that's par for the EA course, I suppose.

They ignored their once-proud strengths of storytelling and tried to make a massive open world but are too inexperienced at this to make it feel full and realistic. Perhaps they realized this halfway through development and started trying to refocus their efforts elsewhere and that's why the game feels unfinished.

LMAO Morrigan walking down those stairs killed me as she looked like something that had just arisen from the dead lol.

And Leilana was walking like she was super tough but under closer inspection I noticed her head is too small for her body because she has a man's body lmfao.

Maybe BioWare has no female models

Oh god i looked at the video this is very evident especially at 0:04 and 1:19  no words to describe it other than the one of luna.

some of the female animations (slumping, walking like a bow-legged ape man) and lack of a DRESS for female Inky's to wear at the ball

it seems that no one has pointed out the lack of  finishing moves/messy kills in DAI they were awesome in DAO each based on the type of weapons, they are important for melee combat.

Because they were already missing from DA2 perhaps?

  • Platforming. What the hell, Bioware? The in-game physics are confusing. What do you mean I can't jump on this knee-high rock, but I have to jump on this other knee-high rock to get up? What do you mean I can't climb up there unless I use a horse? Why is there an invisible wall in front of me? Why do I auto-die when I jump off a rampart or a sand dune when I can clearly see that there's something under me I can jump on?
  • Fetch quests in general. The shards are bad enough, but my absolute least favorite is the series of fetch quests in the Western Approach. So, first I get the bear hides dragon intestines. Then I'm running around finding carcasses around the map. I find Oculariums, so now I'm retracing my steps to collect the shards. Okay, done. I return to the dragon dude and he tells me I have to run around the whole area again disabling some traps. Except I have to return later when after disabling the traps when "the senior raiders investigate". **** this game. Dragon Age II was small, but at least the fetch quests were quick.
  • Speaking of quick, using quick travel and horses apparently kills banter. The world is way too huge not to use them.
  • And speaking of fetch quests, why is everyone I'm sent to find already dead? Oh look a corpse, a letter and an item. Better backtrack and take those back...
  • And speaking of everyone, why can't I talk to people? I meet some random dude in the wastes, but I can't interact with them at all. They're just decorations, set pieces. This really bothered me. One short line if you interacted with them would have been enough.
  • Killing people - I was looking for recruits the whole game and sparring absolutely terrible people like Alexius, and yet I couldn't negotiate with the bandits? This should have been a bigger mechanic in the game...

This is more controversial, but:

  • Race and gender gating romantic options. It worked out well in the end, with relatively good explanations, but I vastly preferred DAII's "everyone is bisexual" approach. YMMV though.

Asking myself how somebody can like the Combat System (PC Version) of DA:I ?! It is just boring and so static. No combat "flow"

- Hold Leftclick for 3 hours, sometimes push 1-5. Thats it.

- Keyboard/mouse control...

- No need to take control of other party members

- no real Auto Attack

- either you move or you attack. No attacking while moving. Makes it so static.

- extrem slowly movement/animation Speed.

Same with the inventory. So tough to equip all Party members. Finding cool items and equip them just doenst make fun at all.

Just these 2 Points decrease Play fun to nearly 0.

But maybe some guys here can tell me whats fun about the combat System and inventory?

Beside this, there are some more points which make this game just bad, and other games 10 years before did already better.

And DA:2 had better looking companions for romance options in general plus THE HAIR OPTIONS FOR YOUR CHARACTER WERE BETTER.

Cullen looks like he went to Madonna's plastic surgeon for those cheeks, the Bull and Solas look like creatures from a horror novel and they're romance options, Jesus Christ, throw a beard on Cassandra and she's Leonidas, Josephine could bit the head off of a bat with those chompers.

Positives: Dorian is hot, Sera is cute, and Blackwall has a most excellent beard...too bad his dialogue bites ace.

Hey now, don't be so hard on Cassandra, she's one of the few things I liked about this game.

Namea doesn't see any point in interacting with people who have literally done nothing since the game's release but bash it to oblivion. Again, I challenge you or anyone on this forum to write, animate, or code anything half as impressive.

Sorry, terrible arguement.  You don't have to have the ability to do something to know that someone else is doing it wrong.  I can't sing, but I can sure as hell tell when someone is doing it off key.

They took the exploits out that made the game more entertaining. Also that shite audio glitch and the constant crashes, and the fact that I CANT PICK MY OWN ATTRIBUTES!

They haven't fixed the audio glitch yet?  Holy crap!

Why is this such a huge deal to everyone when they can be massively enhanced through crafting if you really want?

Sorry just not seeing why so many folks hate that system soo much. Really am curious here.

For me it was because it took away some of my ability to customize my character the way that I wanted to do it.

Everyone else has already covered the worst of the worst, and yeah there are some pretty terrible things about this game.  So I will talk about two of my biggest personal gripes about the game that I don't think anyone else mentioned.

The mage/templar war.  We spend two games working up to this point where the mages and templars finally start throwing down.  And it's over after the first act.  It was such a let down for me.  I was hoping that we would be dealing with it throughout the entire game.  There was a lot of unrealized potential here, so much that could have been done.

The other big thing...the dragon battles.  They all felt exactly the same to me.  They could have been so much better.  I was hoping for these huge, multi-area, knock down, drag out fights with these behemoths, each unique.  Using the environment around us to battle them.  Like for instance fighting one within one of our keeps, having them circling around blasting us with their breath, and having to pull it down with some ballistae or something.  Or like when that one in the Hinterlands goes up on those ledges, having to knock it back down by attacking the ground it was standing on and causing it to crumble.  In the swamps maybe...use pockets of gas to explode around them.  Setting the battleground up utilizing traps then luring the dragon into them.  So much unrealized potential.

And now that I think about it...dangit I still want Vivienne to be romancable.

Agreed 100% (minus vivienne <_< )

Dragons were wasted as there was not point being so many and with different elements if they were all just gonna fight the same and all die by the same tactics lol.

I solo'd the one in crestwood (literally with Cassandra lv12)

they were too easy and just redundant.

And HELL YEAH that war could have played out to a momentous battle and I think it really could have been the central focus and would have made a better storyline than Corypheus  hands down.

other than destroy Haven Corypheus posed no threat within the storyline events

The stinger of a tiny bee does more damage to a dragon now that a heavy 5 foot long, razor sharp, claymore. Something is rather off about that.

Alchemy enhanced swarms of small insects getting beneath the folds of armor plating seem rather annoying to me.

A bash with a greatsword's pommel (if you can get to it to hit anything larger than a human, ho ho ho) does three times the damage of the blade.

This explains why making normal attacks is so relaxing that you actually regain stamina. It all makes sense!

PC version

- camera control is abysmal, especially as it randomly tries to reorient the camera - even when the auto camera is disabled

- the lack of environmental fadeout makes melee combat a confusing mess

- looting is annoying as hell, with tiny "grab" targets, and the need to be standing right on top of the item

Having reached Level 4 as a warrior I'm still deciding if it's worth going back and starting over as a ranged character because these issues are too annoying.

I'd like to highlight where CDPR does it so much better.

I'm a bit surprised BioWare hasn't done the same thing, but hey, this is the official section to complain anyways. It's not like they're going to listen to every rants however. Specially when some of those rants are very rude.
