I've been interested in this game off an on for a while. Most of the reviews on Steam and elsewhere are mixed to mostly positive. I'm not super into ARPGs (at least the isometric hacknslash) but I like them well enough and for 15 bucks I figured why not.

Pretty fun game, I really need to get back to it myself.

 

Wasn't there a first person version of a Van Helsing game?

 

I have the game videos on my DVD of the movie where they talk about the game.

Yeah it's actually pretty fun so far though. My only gripe is I can't seem to get it to run properly through Steam. I was able to get it to run from the .exe directly. Which is okay I guess, I just can't get achives or card drops :/ Still tying to figure something out on that end. But I'm about 2 hours into it and it's been enjoyable so far.

 

Be careful with that.

 

The first time I downloaded the FEAR pack with Perseus Mandate and Extraction Point I could run all 3 from their .exe files outside of Steam but opened my big mouth on the forums and in a month they had patched it.

Yeah I made a post about it but I read in another thread that one of their mods had posted to run the game through the executable and not through Steam as a fix to get another players game to start. So I think they would have patched it by now if they didn't want people to not launch it exclusively through Steam. I took my thread down after I read that just so it wouldn't clutter the forums. Apparently it's not an uncommon suggestion. *shrugs*

It is not uncommon but they don't encourage that on the steam forums as that bypasses the steam drm "cough"
