But it was over between us, Liara. You remember that, right?

Yeah, so I romanced Liara in ME1, but in ME2 Garrus swagged in with his "releasing tension" line and things got... heated.

So, when Liara's asked me whether or not we should get back together, I obviously told her no.

The thing is, when I meet her up in ME3, she acts as if we're still together. It forces a very awkward dialogue route in order to tell her, again, that it's over.

I don't like that. And I don't get why this is happening. I picked the bottom dialogue option in LotSB - the "ok, I'll leave you to your work" or whatever - and we even talked about Garrus and me.

Is it a glitch? Am I doomed to constantly walking into an unnecessary and awkward love triangle every time I start up ME3 again?

I mean, sure, in the end, I can just gibbed it, but I really want to know.

Sadly they force you to go through the whole thing again. Happened to me after my Shep had moved on to Miranda and she seemed accepting in LOTSB. Don't think they should have handled it that way.

Yeah, the LOTSB flag is bugged.

I stayed loyal to her, but Liara not recognizing that we decided to be together during LotSB was pretty annoying. And she says its been 2 years and asks if Shepard wants be with her - well Liara, we got back together during LotSB, remember? As far as I know you can only fix it using gibbed save edit.

I don't have the gibbed save edit, and Liara says that she will always remember that tour of the Normandy while adding it has been six months since Shepard and Liara were together.

It think the bug was fixed but it requires the Leviathan DLC. I'm not entirely sure though.

For me, the issue is that we never were. And yet she still persists.

Damn it girl, I wasn't into you 3 years ago, and I'm not into you now. Go bother someone else.

Eh, you get the same with everyone. For example I was doing a Liara ME1/2/3 romance and stupidly spoke to Kaiden before Liara on the Citadel.

Awkward Conversations with Liara are the best. She assumes too much.

Liara's romance is so poorly handled in 3.

If you romanced her but tell her no she asks you 2 more times and if you romanced her and tell her "yes" she STILL asks you 2 more times later in the games.

The worst offender is on the Citadel when she's like "it's nice to spend time together... just friends.", omg just make out already, enough with the fangirl romance where the female is totally shy and embarrassed. it's so boring.

Bioware seemed rather excessively concerned with not locking the player in to a romance until the last moment

That was a bug that got patched I believe.

I ran into it on an initial run, but after going back to ME3 after all the DLC released the correct dialogue triggered, and she references LotSB. It's been awhile, but I think she's says 'months' instead of 2 years.

Ideally, they'll allow players to flirt around with different candidates for awhile, but at some point, the game needs to know which one is to be the beloved.

I would imagine that's not easy to do, especially since a lot of the possible dialogues may be skipped.

All they had to do was the DAO method, where you get a very obvious chance to initiate or strike down a romance. That's it, and it would have taken care of so many of ME2 and ME3's romance issues.

Who can a straight, male Shepard romance?  Liara, Miranda, Jack, Ashley... Who else am I missing?  Is Tali an option?  The suit always seemed like an obstacle. I know Samara isn't an option, and neither was Kasumi, correct?

Yeesh... out of those 4, Liara is the most likeable.  Jack is a neat option in a weird, bad-girl sorta way, though.

Ashley or Liara in ME1. The Asari Consort as well, though thats just a fling.

Miranda, Tali, or Jack in ME2.  Kelly Chambers as well, though it is much less developed than the others. Liara if you include the LotSB DLC. Shepard can make a move on Samara, but she shoots him/her down.

Ashley or Liara in ME3. Samara potentially gets a tame romance scene in the Citadel DLC, if Shepard isn't locked into a romance. Also Diana Allers, but why would anyone choose her?

If you say no the first 2 times, the worst part is when you romance someone else before saying no the 3rd and final time, and get the "I know what you did with Tali/Ashley/whoever!" confrontation.

I also had Liara say this, so the bug was certainly fixed in some instances.

To clarify any "it require to have X", I had every DLC installed and the game was patched to latest version before I even started the playthrough.

Aight, looks like it's time to bring out the gibbed.

... Err... What would I need to change? I can't seem to find the "broke up with Liara" flag.
