Yeah none of this Val Royeaux crap - that was pretty disappointing.

That was like, the central square where all the posh people hang out. Give me the grit and dirt along with it.  Going back to AC Unity there were very posh areas like la Louvre, but then there was also Porte St. Denis which looked like it could have given you virtual herpes if you touched the wrong thing.  I think for realism you need both and stuff in the middle, and Val Royeaux felt.. I don't know.. off somehow (even without it being so small).  Maybe it's the whole mask thing?

I really want to see what Tevinter has in store and what it could bring to the world as a whole. Being able to play someone from that region of the world would definitely be very interesting.

It was very tiny for the city it's supposed to be. Even then you could only explore a very small part of it, much of it was off limits. You could see other areas, boardwalks etc but not explore them.

Tbh i'm really done with south thedas. I would like to have a game set in tevinter where we are a powerful magister in his quest to save tevinter from itself while repelling the qunari hordes from the north

This works, it would be a perfect plot to have Dorian as a major npc or party member again :)

I have a question - was the DA universe - Thedas and its provinces, created when DAO was created or was there a book/board game series before that?

New characters, go to a distant land.

I think Tevinter (including Seheron) should, and probably will be, the setting of the next game. Nevarra should be explored after that. I certainly don't think we should close ourselves off to a return to the south, though. Orlais and Ferelden still have a lot of plot potential and I'd also love to explore beyond the Korcari Wilds.

Most people in Thedas would love to explore beyond the Korcari Wilds, lol.  Remember there are the Chasind down that way, which have pretty much stopped all expeditions that way.  Everyone was so terrified of them at Ostagar, if you'll remember.

I'd definitely like to see new places. We've seen a lot of Ferelden and only got a glimpse of Orlais. I'd like to see a proper city again, not small hub areas like Val Rayeaux. Cities like Denerim, only the new engine wouldn't require a bunch of loading screens to see all of it. And places with entire new visuals like we've seen Tevinter have through concept arts of its people and places.

I would really like to see the Heartlands of Orlais, like the area where Evangeline is from and was traveled through during Asunder.  It was really cool to see The Dales, I enjoyed that whole section greatly, but three, THREE, of the zones in Orlais were straight up desert.  The Western Approach was really cool for a desert, but the Oasis for the shards and the Hissing Wastes were some of the most pointless zones in the game.  That said, I thoroughly enjoyed the underlying storyline in the Hissing Wastes with the Dwarves in the area, but that was told all through Codex entries and side quests.  I felt there was no really driving story in that zone, and unless I was exploring, I would not have found that storyline.  There were six zones in Orlais, half were desert, and that was my problem.  There's much more to Orlais than the Dales and deserts.

I'm okay with not seeing Ferelden but only if Ferelden remains relevant to the storyline. If that makes sense.

I get you. I agree.

And I wouldn't mind seeing Ferelden again. But at the earliest, in DA4 DLC. Maybe not even til, I dunno, DA6, haha.

Obviously there's stuff in Ferelden that we may want to see again. I'm cool with that. But I'm more than okay with it not being a focus, ever again.

My standing theory is that DA4 will be involve the Felissima Armada, the new PC's home base will be a captured Qunari Dreadnought reinforced with enchantments, and the actual story will be split between Antiva and Rivain, with possible one off trips to Tevinter, Seheron, the Anderfels, or the south.  Maybe the Free Marches.

I want to explore Dwarven history more. Not necessarily another deep roads dungeon crawl but ruins, dwarven cities and maybe some deep roads. The idea of an entire underground that covers the continent and people have only been in like 1% of it is very mysterious and cool.

I want to see the Tirashan. Also the Anderfels and the islands with the pyramids and the horned statues (I don't remember which ones they were). I would also like to hear what's going on in Ferelden from time to time, but yes, I would like to see the rest of Thedas.

I want to be part of a Tevinter slave uprising.

This would be awesome!

No more Ferelden.

I'd like to see Tevinter or Seheron next.

Brand-new universe.

Based on the hints left in the previous games, it was obvious we would finally end up in Orlais, but DAI hints strongly at the Tevinter Imperium, so I'm betting we'll be heading out that way next.

After playing all the DA games previous to DAI (DLC included), I find DAI was the completion of Southern Thedas. Everything from DAO to DAI came together in a big final battle that wrapped up the previous hero's stories and closed a chapter.

Stuff that comes to mind:

-Tevinter

-Seheron

-Antiva

-Ancient Elven Land

-Anderfels

-Nevarra

Stuff that doesn't come to mind:

-Rivain

-Par Vollen

-Antiva (yes, its up in the air)

-Free Marches

I'd bet on upper left/center Thedas, rather than upper right.

I'd be an ambitious but also possible sounding game that centers on Tevinter, but also has excursions into Anderfels, Seheron, and Nevarra.

Or they may decide to go relatively small scale again (DA2 - but not saying it'll just be one city).

My thoughts exactly! Especially Seheron and Nevarra. As I added in an edit to my previous post, I just feel that DAI was the completion of South Thedas. We created real peace between Fereldan and Orlais.

I wouldn't say its a completion, but I get you.

I could still see Orlais again. However, I don't ever expect another 'wilderness of Orlais' focus. If anything, something like a mix of city life (which we got limited exposure to) and explorations to the rather unknown lands to the west (Arl Dumat? Tirashan?).

But yeah, focus on 'Orlais' and 'Ferelden', especially their relations, is likely done. Mage/Templar, over. Orlais/Ferelden, over. Southern Wardens, over. Stuff like that.

I just wouldn't cross out the possibility of a Orlesian-city-life focused game in the future. DAI might have showed it off, but I still considered it more of an introduction, not a conclusion (Winter Palace and the one plaza? Not much.).

Might change my mind with significantly sized DLC for Orlais.

Seheron

Tevinter

Antiva

Nevarra

Those are the areas I'd love to see in the next DA and make them bigger and more open.  The slave uprising idea someone mentioned earlier is awesome.

I'm super curious about the Anderfels myself. Although it sounds like pretty harsh lands.

Chapter completion. ;)

I agree we are just getting a taste of Orlais. Perhaps we will start off there in the next game and end up in Tevinter, etc... either way, Fereldan is pretty much done for the moment in my opinion. Maybe we can check in on KIrkwall too? It's mentioned quite a bit in DAI.
