My piece of wisdom on how to get a plat solo done: watch some recorded games to see how the solo-veterans go about it. This was (and remains) of tremendous help to me. Many accomplished soloists (some of who have already given you advice here) record their games and have extensive video archives where you can find pretty much any kit played on any map against any faction. Check out solo submissions and signatures of regulars in the platinum hall of fame thread and the themed challenges thread for links.

Agree. I find it difficult to concentrate on anything as far as watching Plat solos for extended periods, so generally I'll focus on how a few different people handle waves or specific enemies giving me trouble on a map.

I watched a bunch of platinum solo videos on YT. They were quite informative. Also I began lifting and decided to attempt a solo gold without any amps/armor/ammo equipped only gear every once in a while. Was having fun with GI equipped with a BWX on reactor vs cerberus till I was called for breakfast and had to let a dragoon stomp me at that time in wave 4.

I m looking at your doc and cyonan's and see no max respawn per unit (per wave) on plat, is it the case or just U havent verify those values ? So no use to kill phantoms on obj waves to break free from them, i guess.

Nope, no way to exterminate phantoms (or anything, really) the way you can get rid of goons on gold. I generally try not to kill anything before the objective is done, that way at least I know where most of the enemies are; the more you kill'em, the greater the chance they'll spawn behind your back or right on top of the objective.

Don't use the juggy he's horrible on platinum.  If you want to cheese platinum use the TGI with a harrier a grenade kit 5 and stimpack your way to glory.  Or the geth trooper with acolyte and burn them all.   Honestly Solo gold twice if it's a banner your after.  Its much easier than platinum.  Soling platinum will burn you out as the failure and frustration rate is high.  Sometimes no matter what you do a sync kill can happen.  I had at least 15 plat solos ruined in waves 9-11 by a damned phantom praetorian or banshee that just pissed me off and made me quit playing for months.  One time a freaking Atlas pulled me through a wall on giant.

No. Jug makes things way too easy is the problem for me.
