60 of each stat would definitely be noticeable.
Quick question about promoting

87 promotions and you can be good one game and suck in the next.
Getting good gear will help you the most.

Sooooo where are all the anti promoters with N7 100's and their snooty bragging about being a low N7 from ME3MP now????? They are all PROMOTING! Couldn't stick to their morals, had to be tempted by the lure of stats. Probably all still looking at the Claymore sword and crying. Still crying themselves to sleep with their Geth Infiltrator plushie. Trying to reload cancel their spells. HA HA HA HA HA a pox on you all!
Wrong!!! I've only got 6 mage promotions and 5 rogue ones, and those were only down to the lack of a re-spec option.

Different factors can make you be good in one game and suck in the next, for instance, connection. Having Promotions can only help, it won't have any sort of negative impact.
It is true that getting good gear helps the most, particularly during a player's first couple of hundred hours. However, people can both unlock gear and promote at the same time; the only difference is that promoting is not RNG. Promoting is, despite all its flaws, perceivable and accessible sense of progression, probably the only one that this game has (other than unlocking banners and portraits)
Getting 50 or 60 stats across the board is within everyone's reach, provided one has time and dedication. Getting a Sulevin Blade and/or pair of Superb HoK rings is not within everyone's reach.

You are so right. I have neither. 971k gold spent so far.Getting a Sulevin Blade and/or pair of Superb HoK rings is not within everyone's reach.
Also, I wasn't suggesting that you do not promote. You should always promote whenever you hit 20. Promoting will help you more over time but you will not see any instant impact on your game.
Even promoting 150 times (50 in each) is only a 25% boost to your character.

this. Promotions are so incremental that they don't actually help you until long after you need them.87 promotions and you can be good one game and suck in the next.
