High production costs? Bad oversight? Poor design? Misreading the fanbase? Oh, no, my friends.

The real reason we have such a hideous selection of hair in DA:I is that at the end of DA:O, we destroyed (or severely weakened) Urthemiel. It all makes sense now, doesn't it? The Old God of Beauty is no more, and so, the beauty in Thedas not-so-slowly fades from existence. Luckily, Hawke was spared, as their story started before the end of the fifth blight. The Inquisitor, however, was not so lucky...

Soon (next game), we will be left only with strange and ugly hairstyles, as our protagonists' looks are torn asunder! Not even one shoulder-length hair (with sideburns) will remain...

The end of beauty in Thedas, has come. :P

What if this thread is a conspiracy?

Post count could be a clue as to the key to unlocking the conspiracy of the hair!

@Robert/Elcor Haha, you noticed huh? Well, unfortunately I can't leave it that way forever, so thanks for posting the screenshot so others will see!

I don't get it....

What don't you get? I'd be happy to explain.

It's in the OP.  With the death of the Old God of Beauty (that was the Archdemon from Origins,) the hair was the first to suffer.   :P

Tell that to my underwear model Qunari. All I wanted was a savage beastial grey giant, instead people are making goddamn channing tatum clones with horns.

Hell, even some of the dwarves are pretty.

It's just wrong....

Beauty is subjective.  There's a beauty in monstrosity when it comes to non-humans and those that are a little...other.  ;)

Now, that being said, the Qunari women ended up looking like underwear models in the comics.  If anything, their in-game appearance is toned down some.

Ah, I'm sorry I didn't get it. Probably because I don't find Josephine very attractive. Not ugly either, just... there, I guess. Beauty is indeed very subjective!

Perhaps the Quanari are starting to look like underwear models because under the Qun it would be weak and unattractive (especially when the Tamassans are looking to breed strong traits!) and so they are losing THEIR form of beauty too! :o

Buuuuut... Urthemiel technically died when it was corrupted by the Darkspawn, which was months, maybe years before DA:O.

If that were true, what would be the point of the Dark Ritual? There is something left to save. I guess it depends on your definition of death.

People always say beauty is subjective and yet everyone on magazine covers and in movies all look pretty similar.  I'm not entirely disagreeing with you, but I think beauty is about symmetry and attraction is more complicated, the "do anything for ya" factor.

Brad Pitt is symmetrical.  In Fight Club I found him super hot, but that's it.  Other than that he does nothing for me, but I can see why people used to say, "Well, he's no Brad Pitt."

Chris Hemsworth is good looking, I can see it.  I would rather have had sex with Loki than Thor.

OH!  How's your doggie, I hope well.

Go to your profile, and at the bottom left, click on Change Theme, then Bioware Dark (Beta). So helpful! Hope this helps you and everyone else!

People always say beauty is subjective and yet everyone on magazine covers and in movies all look pretty similar. *snip*

It's all very weird. Non-western cultures have had much different popular ideas of "beauty", often seeing larger women a lot more attractive than western culture seems to. And it will keep changing; we will keep finding different things attractive. So it seems like culture has something to do with it, but it's hard to tell how many people truly find those things attractive or not. So people on magazines looking similar, in my opinion, is partly true, and partly exaggerated - because the people who make the magazines overestimate how many people share their views of beauty.

Back on topic though, it's pretty clear the majority of DA players don't think most of DA:I's hair is beautiful! I really hope they add some - for free.

If there is something left to save, then it still influenced the DA:O characters, was saved in the Dark Ritual, and thus continues to influence the world in DA:I.

Well, for the PC users, the modders are working on some styles that look pretty good.  They aren't quite ready for prime time, but they look good.  I peak in the DA modders group thread from time to time.  Unfortunately, it's something that we'll have to ask BioWare for when it comes to consoles.

Oh and if you can't tell, I fully support more free options for all platforms.   Preferably without sideburns on the lady IQs.   ;)
