Glad to help!

It's all very weird. Non-western cultures have had much different popular ideas of "beauty", often seeing larger women a lot more attractive than western culture seems to. And it will keep changing; we will keep finding different things attractive. So it seems like culture has something to do with it, but it's hard to tell how many people truly find those things attractive or not. So people on magazines looking similar, in my opinion, is partly true, and partly exaggerated - because the people who make the magazines overestimate how many people share their views of beauty.

Back on topic though, it's pretty clear the majority of DA players don't think most of DA:I's hair is beautiful! I really hope they add some - for free.

Just wanted to chime in here and exercise my historical muscles: Western culture did, in fact, for a long time consider girth beautiful in both women and men. It's often still equated with wealth and power. Most recently, however, evolving thoughts on obesity and the shaming of overweight people as being lazy and gluttonous has put pressure on older perceptions of beauty.

I don't think the hair in this game would be considered beautiful in any time period, in any culture, anywhere. XD It's not a matter of perception. It's just ... shabby. Extremely shabby. :/ Except for Morrigan's, Leliana's, and Josephine's, which the player can't even use. All the female Qunari get is an ugly tuft.

I'd gladly resurrect Urthemiel if it meant some better hair. -_- I say we start a new cult to save the people of Thedas from bad hair day monstrosities.

If there is something left to save, then it still influenced the DA:O characters, was saved in the Dark Ritual, and thus continues to influence the world in DA:I.

That's why I said "destroyed or severely weakened" in my OP ;) Besides, it's a joke :P

Well, for the PC users, the modders are working on some styles that look pretty good.  They aren't quite ready for prime time, but they look good.  I peak in the DA modders group thread from time to time.  Unfortunately, it's something that we'll have to ask BioWare for when it comes to consoles.

Oh and if you can't tell, I fully support more free options for all platforms.   Preferably without sideburns on the lady IQs.   ;)

I'm definitely not against PC people getting more hair, but I agree that consoles need it badly too, and the only way for that to happen is Bioware releasing them. I also don't want them to think that the horrid options are excusable because PC players found a work-around. And I agree 1000000% about the sideburns. They should be an option in the Facial Hair section, not come with some hairs and not others. Seriously, it's not complicated! As it stands now, females are forced to have sideburns with most hairs, and males are also forced to have them, or forced not to. Just having them be different sliders would fix all of the problems, but hey, don't listen to me, Bioware   Sorry, this stuff makes me rant. :P

With any bit of luck, when they release the Black Emporium, they'll add in some decent hairstyles .... (I really hope they do at least!)

As The Iron Bull would say: "They won't... but they could." And definitely should, in my opinion. I hope that's why the Black Emporium wasn't released in patch 5, though there could be any number of reasons.

Thanks for chiming in, it's not my area of expertise. And you also summed up what I was trying to say well.

Well, I think an easy first step to improving hair would be to simply add the hairs NPCs use as options. If you can use Varric's hair, why not anyone else? Especially Cullen and Alistair, seriously <_< I definitely think they should do more, but that would be a good start.
