Is the 'giant book' in skyhold an easter egg?

I always hoped it would be like an entry "portal" to a future DLC or something like that, like it's linked to skyhold's history before inquisition set up shop. At first though i thought that's where alexis would study magic for the inquisition if he was spared, but I don't think the book does anything as of yet.

Yeah, I think that whole area is for DLC purposes. I wonder if the dwarven statues are a hint we may be heading to Kal-Sharok...

Kinda hope they save kal-sharok for the next game. just cant see DLC doing it any justice. But Sharokovar thaig sounds good considering its where the kal-sharok Assembly meets.

Idk, the wiki claims it's a Necronomicon, which would rather point to it being an Easter egg, since I don't really see Bioware supporting really weird crossovers. Still, I hoped to see Alexius there as well, or any of the other agents around, really... (Michel is there, I guess, but I'm killing him next time).

If it is a Necormicon, then that points to Nevarra. That would be interesting. End the dragon age by joining forces with (and getting them out of mothballs) Nevarran Dragon hunters or, a follow up on the death of Cassandra's brother, her royal lineage, something in that direction.

Welp, the Necronomicon as in the actual Lovecraftian Necronomicon, so unless one of the Old Gods is Cthulhu I don't see how it would fit with the world of Thedas... ![]()

Some of the statues around Thedas do have an offspring of Lovecraft and Munch feeling.

I used to think these had tentacle faces, but I guess that's supposed to be hair. Still, they're properly creepy.

And then there's this, from the Ascension of Ghilan'nain codex:
On the second day she drowned the giants of the sea, except those in deep waters, for they were too well-wrought, and Pride stopped her hand.
So there are enormous creatures lurking in the deep ocean, probably.

Not to mention the codex entries from Havard Pierre D'Amortisan and his servant Dunwich.

Ok so I'm late to the party but I totally thought that it was going to be Morrigan's haunt once she joined the Inq. Even after she joined I thought the garden was a little crowded for her style. Whatevs.
Her style has changed in the last decade, regardless of Warden actions.
