The selection of "helmets" for Qunari is rather lackluster. We need craftable vitaar using herbs!
We need craftable vitaars.

Only if they're going to do some proper ones, no more of this tiny warpaint crap... I want some DA2 style vitaars. Those looked awesome, one more thing that was cool about qunari that isn't the case anymore...

Depending on the class vitaars are far, far superior to helmets. For a mage, for example, the damage boost is incredible.

I believe Saphiron was talking about aesthetics, not game balance.
I know I was deeply disappointed to find that I could neither wear the iconic Inquisitor helm nor craft any vitaars. It felt like I was missing out on both.

And race specific armour for qunari
Qunari need to be able to wear the Grey Warden armor too! (with it actually appearing instead of it looking like mercenary armor)

^ Sure, but I actually like the merc armour and would like to have that model available for all races in crafting.

I leave helmets off but I definitely agree with this. The current vitaars look like carnival face paints.

Yeah but none of them look that great. I dug the heavy duty ones in DA2, the red that covered the lower half of the face and neck and upper chest in particular.
I'd like some really neat options visually. Agreed though, solid stats, just wish we had neater designs fit for massive Qunari warriors.

I can't say I found any of the vitaars aesthetically pleasing.

It's hard enough to make a pretty female qunari, but with the vitaars, it's practically impossible. I suppose I could choose to hide helmets in the options, but I hate that.
That wouldn't help. You still see them in cutscenes. (helmets are off by default in cutscenes, the fact that you still see them regardless should tell you they aren't counted as helmets)
It's also the main reason I cannot bring myself to play a Qunari, that the vitaars are always visible.
