So in my first playthrough, my Hawke was a dagger rogue, and it went fine. She always had daggers. Now in this playthrough, she apparently can't decide what to equip, and more-or-less alternates between having a bow and daggers. Has this happened to anyone else? With a two-handed weapon and sword-and-shield maybe? That would be really silly. Does anyone know if they will fix these things? It's minor, but I've heard of lots of keep problems, especially with Hawke.

Keep does not account for daggers or archery. Hawke will alternate between the two.

 

For me, my Hawke was an archer. Whenever I saw her with daggers, I found that reloading the last save until she had her bow and arrows and then saving over that caused the bow and arrows to stick. This may have been coincidence though. Still, she had archery until some time later in Adamant.

 

There is one scene where she jumps down off a platform in Adamant and she always had daggers at this point.

 

Again, I saved, reloaded until she had archery, and then saved over that. All reloads after that point showed that her archery stuck. This was the part where you run into the courtyard and convince the Wardens to stand down.

 

I think she remained in archery mode from this point on, even in the Fade. Even when facing the Nightmare.

 

The only exception was when it came time to choose who would stay behind. She switched to daggers during this dialogue crossroads. This is probably because cutting weapons are needed for the "attack the Nightmare" animation.

 

Obviously I didn't try to reload this because to do so would mean fighting the Nightmare all over again. I had Stroud stay behind. When Hawke emerged on the other side with me, she still had the daggers.

Ah, thank you for the info. Just seems strange to me since she always had daggers the first playthrough, so I didn't notice. Maybe that should have been a tile in the keep, but it's not the end of the world. I wonder if this happens for warriors though, because that would be quite a bit stranger.

My Hawke was a Two-handed warrior in DA2 and is a Sword and Shield warrior in DAI. Granted, he did use a sword and shield briefly in the Deep Roads, but ...

Yeah, the same thing that happened to thats1evildude happened to me. What bother me most is that Hawke gets crappy starting weapons. Seriously? Couldn't they have had something decent looking?

this happened to me too. my world stat just would never export correctly. verra frustrating

Again, Keep does not recognize weapons at all. I agree that there should have been a tile to select which weapons Hawke used, and I even suggested this as a beta tester.

 

I'd also like to add that Hawke switched to daggers when I found her in the Western Approach. Same as before, reloading the save until she had archery and then saving over that seemed to make archery stick for the duration of that area.
