Interesting article. The more I think about the game after reading this the more I start seeing arcs in models, but I think it is a bit over-zealous to say curved lines are the defining feature of the series' aesthetics. It may be thematic or conceptual but I would not be ready to go so far and hold it up as the grand, unifying trait of the universe, not yet anyway. Though there is a rough pattern of arcs in the armor and general physiology of some alien races, the majority of examples shown lacked a cohesive pattern or arrangement one could easily see elsewhere. I may be thinking about this the wrong way, perhaps all the arcs have the same or similar arc angles in which case the do become a unifying icon.  

 

This got me thinking and one could argue the aesthetics of the Halo games revolves around 45 and 135 degree angles, citing Forerunner architecture and how frequent those exact angles are seen in Spartan armor, Pelicans and other ships, human weapons, and the dichotomy with the Covenant (the common antagonist) who defy this pattern with smooth, rounded surfaces and points.
