I've been interested in playing a male Qunari for the longest time... but I kinda have trouble getting used to their sheer size. They're too... buff? I know that's what they're supposed to be like, and, y'know, that's fine. Male elves also feel strange to play - the fact that they're so petite and have rather impish facial qualities makes it hard for me to take them seriously. I guess I'm just too used to human proportions.

 

I know this isn't a change that will go into the game, but it's something I've had on my mind for a while now. I don't it has much to do with their height that with their frame. They're just so big. I keep thinking about a giant twirling a baton to casts spells and it just looks funny.

 

I guess I'm just curious how many people out there would prefer more human-sized Qunaris? (maybe a human-qunari hybrid? )

 

PS: this isn't a criticism on the actual design of Qunaris. I know they're supposed to be big.

I liked the DA2 qunari model too, like Sten too- it was the time when Qunari still fit in through the doorways and had the unique racial appearance outside of horns and size. They are far too bulky and definitely a misstep in all proportions considering that they do not even fit in view in all DA:I cutscenes Women Qunari are more tolerable since their model is narrower, but these massive hunks of males are in some scenes almost cringe worthy: I begun experiencing real life neck pain after witnessing qunari male romance scene ...

Sten was still kinda large. I think it's more the bulkiness that bothers me. It's like having a character with an ugly face, I suppose. Maybe eventually we might get a mod with a more slender Qunari? xD

Just play a human…..

Qunari are known as the bronze skinned giants for a reason.

Just play a Qunari Mage, you'll get over the size of them soon enough. They wear Vitaar, that damage boost is good for a mage.

 

I have always preferred playing an elf in DAO and any game that allows me to play one but, here my cannon ended up being a Qunari Mage, they are wonderful to play and, by the time you go to the Winter Palace, you'll be used to playing a giant. They don't look odd using a staff and, are quite agile creatures, just big and, they have horns.
