Yet another reason why major GOTY awards should not be taken seriously anymore. (Just as reviews from major sites)

Well, at least it wasn't shadow of mordor. It's a big empty assassins creed on a grass plain with an admittedly cool premise, but it has only a few npcs, the final battle with your turned orcs is kind of lame and only uses the warcheifs, and the two last boss fights are the worst in videogame history.
I was sorely disappointed when the demon in god of secrets turned out to be a despair demon with extra hp, but not as much as i hated the stealth boss fight in shadow, or the 10 second quicktime that was somehow the ENTIRE final boss fight.
That said, this isn't feedback, it's just sort of mean spirited towards the devs.

Pffft. Destiny is okay if you don't mind mindless mmo shooter action with absolutely no cohesive story.
Oh wait, that's what's popular these days.
My husband loves that kind of crap but he's also one of those losers who thinks that gaming should be considered an actual sport.

Funny you should say that, because that is almost the same what DAI is, minus the online component (and switch the shooter for action button-mashing rpg)
And yeah, it unfortunately is what is popular these days, that is why DAI is so different from DAO and DA2.
Not commenting on the husband-loser thing
but if chess are considered a sport, so can be video games like DOTA 2 for example.

I happen to disagree. I find DA:I to have a very compelling story with well written characters that I could connect with.
I don't think Chess is a sport either. It's an activity that can be competitive. If there's no physical exertion involved, it isn't a sport.

Dishonored was a damn good game at least. Can't speak for Destiny as it isn't on PC and due to it being online only, I will give it a miss even if it when it is available.

Dishonored is easily among 10 worst games I've ever played. Not a single aspect of the game was done right. It began with a death of the character which was supposed to be main motivation of the protagonist. Of course since that character was seen for a grand total of 25 seconds before her death the whole story became meaningless.
The action portion of the gameplay was stale and the stealth portion is hands down the worst stealth gameplay ever designed (and that includes Assassin's creed) due to several gamebreakingly overpowered abilities like teleportation.
And then of course there was a horror of faces and their animation...

Well, it's not like game awards are a real indication regarding the quality of a video game.
Most of the time it's like a clique, with members of said clique taking turns congratulating each other.
That's what it feels like anyway.

Didn't look like that on my PC on full detail. Stealth section played out pretty well. Didn't mind the story line at all.

But most people think it is. Look at DA:I No tactics. On PC it's just bad console port, On XBOX360 and PS3 it's even unplayable. And we have artical where Bioware acknowledge that because game was made on 5 platforms content was cut.(Save keep or Crestwood). Main story is short and world is seperat from main story and filed with only fetch quests.

Yeah Destiny isn't GOTY material, but if we're being honest with ourselves, neither is Inquisition. 2014 was pretty barren as far as quality releases go, so choosing the GOTY is basically a pickem between mediocre titles.

You are right, but with Destiny it's arguably even worse.
The marketing team of Destiny simply trolled everyone shamelessly. It was a new level of education in what corporate-speak really means.
And yes, 2014 was a bad year for gaming, and I'm still waiting for something that will really break the trend.
Maybe The Witcher 3 will be good enough to do the trick.
One thing is for sure, the lesson from 2014 is: Never underestimate the power and effectiveness of all the money being poured by the big corporations into sales and publicity. If you value your money and sanity, remain skeptical to the end. And forget about the anti-consumer concept caller "pre-ordering".
