Talking about gameplay, this video is pretty interesting. I am working on my Necro banner (my last mage banner) and I don't like the character as much as the other mages and I am have trouble getting a solid build; most builds I've either come cross or figured out have Mind Blast as a crucial element, but Crucible's one ignores it completely.
I will definitely give it a try.
Bioware, This Pretty Much Sums up Perilous Nowadays.

In my experience, mind blast is lag sensitive and not reliable off host, so for you it is a very risky option. IMO, walking bomb and fade cloak are two mandatory skills. Others are more or less a matter of personal preference.

MB is OK, not a crucial element, but more for exp farming than anything else. I use it as a 4th slot swap out skill depending how I feel that day. Horror's fine, Spirit Mark is fine, FS is OK too, even though I don't use it anymore.
FS is popular, and Blizzard was too-- but fortunately people are starting to ween off the Blizzard worship. FS is still popular, but it is not time efficient for advanced users.
There's also about half a second of animation time that I dislike where the user is vulnerable. It was hard to describe, but video is proof. Easier to show in Crucible's own video at time 58 he casts FS. The primary travel animation ends at 1:00 but he cannot move until between 1:00 and 1:01, because the animation doesn't finish until the necromancer's "I believe I can fly" hands come back inside.
Most people might not notice it, since it is subtle, but I am not most people. That vulnerability period means death vs enemy horror spikes that track, or the odd knockdown hits. I really don't like it, and I usually have to FC immediately afterward to break the animation and close the gap. Don't get me wrong, I'm used to the FS FC wombo combo... but it also isn't as good without solid AoE CC to bring enemies together (PotA for AW's).
FS is lower DPS more apparant fun, but less time efficient. Close Combat Necros are higher risk higher reward (time). FS is also better for pugs that don't control aggro, and relatively worse amongst players that do.
Every time I see Crucible FS, I think to myself, I could be gathering enemies to one spot and eliminating them all at once via FC + WB Chain Death Explosion AoE. Risky but powerful. . . that or why is he not being more aggressive.
FS's better for Threatening and below where enemy health is lower, and not everyone has crucible's higher attack power to make FS closer to lethal too.

What the **** does making friends have to do with the topic at hand?
It might help if you actually bothered to read it.

Make friends and force them to buy the game and like it enough to play it with you? Or do you mean make friends from random people already playing the game? That would require doing some PUGs to find those people.lol this is laughable.... the best way to solve this problem is make friends to p[lay with it literally solves every cry baby problem on here ... lol

Summing up that advice and trying to clarify it a bit I'd say just bear with the PUGs and when you find decent people add them to friends.

Maybe I should just make a guide lol.
But I really like her because shes takes a lot more to play well then just randomly casting stuff, you have to think more with her because her potential to wreak house is so much greater then the other mages.
It would be fun however to discuss the various builds people use one her, like you said it used be Blizzard but I see more and more people straying away from that, I'll start working on a Perilous Guide.

I like the Necro too! Obviously lol. As for greater potential, the power curve is geared differently for sure. She bursts the most with the most enemies gathered in one spot, which is true for all mages, but she's the best at it due to WB. Virulence is another key feature.
I've done the way you play, and it is fun, but I prefer the higher risk-reward way I play due to time efficiency, and the desire to make the most of her unique skillset. If I am to play Necro, I want to make the most out of WB. I can FS FC win on any mage.
My interpretation is I might as well play Ele with the WG FS FC playstyle you have, and sub WB with Firestorm flashpoints. I have done this too btw, and it is also fun for a while.
Too bad we can't join each other's games, as you're on XB1 and I'm PC with no crossover.
