Anyone else experiencing periodic hi-jacking of their browser when navigating the forums here? Every once in awhile I'll click a link to go to a post or different forum and another tab will open in my browser telling me that JAVA is outdated or my computer has "suspicious activity" and needs to be checked or some other similar BS. When the new tab opens, it also locks my browser so that I can do nothing. The only way to close the tab and regain control of my browser is to open task manager and close the browser completely.

I've run a thorough virus scan on my computer with 3 different agents and have turned up no malware or spyware. I even tried a different computer, using a different ISP, and eventually ran into the same problem. Has some form of malware attached itself to these forums?

What programs have you used to scan your computer?

I'm not getting anything like you describe.

I've not had this issue at any point. I use the Safari browser version 8.0.3

What browser extensions do you have installed?

Pretty soon your computer will be locked out by Russian hackers demanding you pay them through some shady money transfer service.

I've used both Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. For virus scanners/removal I use a sequential combination of ADWCleaner, Junkware Removal Tool, Malwarebytes, and Hitman Pro. I run the sweep every Sunday and have turned up no "hits" that would be responsible for this behavior. I've completely cleaned the caches and removed all cookies, confirmed the existence of no malicious extensions or toolbars (I don't have any installed period), and even went so far as to uninstall and reinstall both browsers.

Coincidently, since early yesterday I have not experienced the behavior. Maybe Bioware fixed whatever was wrong?

It could have been dodgy links posted by users.
