I had the bad luck of experiencing a gamebreaking bug during the Orlesian Ball quest in the game. That cutscene with the assassin never triggered. about 10 attempts later I gave up on it. Been unable to progress in the game since mid December. Lovely stuff.
Today, though, I decided to try again since there has been one or two patches since then. Seems one of them did fix the bug, and I can now finish the game.
Kudos to Bioware for fixing it.
The title was supposed to be called Bug Fix, by the way. Typo.
If you click edit and then click "use full editor" next to "save changes" you can edit your subject, handy trick that took me forever to find out.

Mid December means you were on Patch 2 when the bug occurred? Might hit it myself unless, I patch up before that quest, or disembowel myself before I get there.

I had completed most of the huge areas before the bug hit, so I am hoping I am fairly done with all the fetch quests by now. Ohh and that damn Orlesian Ball approval. I got 99 on it. 1 away from an achievement. Fun.
The things that happen in this part of the game and the rest in Temple of Mythal and the ending... I'm worried we might lose you to the dark side, the ones that like the game =(
Temple of Mythal and the following sequences with Morrigan are by far the ones I love the most in DA series, I'm really afraid I might lose you =(

I still think the fetch quests and the combat are rotten, don't worry about it. I do like exploring the huge areas for the first time, though. And the companions are great. I think, overall, this game is a 5 out of 10 in my book. So far.

Yeah, some cool things were fine by Patch 2 and they kept on making worse each patch =(
I learned to live without them. Sometimes banter is great, sometimes it just doesn't exist, it is random.
Game is deffinetly far from working as intended but got a LOT better than in the launch.
I have had two sever game breaking bugs, that forced me to restart the game form the beginning. Plus the music bug. I haven't experienced any of the other bugs people have reported. Having to start all over after 50 hours or so wasn't fun, though.
