Nihlus jumping out of the Normandy without a parachute while it is probably traveling at around 170 knots and surviving.

Well he is a Turian, he might be a veteran of a Havoc squad.

Besides, I can think of a variety of ways to jump safely from a flying aircraft with ME level technology.

The ICARUS landing system from Deus Ex makes much more sense if you have eezo.

But yeah, the writers did not bother to show us the little details.

"Was he wearing a parachute?"
"No. No he wasn't"

Winter Soldier!

Back in the day Steve would have probably died from pulling a stunt like that but this is the new super duper powered Steve who can jump out of an airplane without a parachute and then proceed to solo an entire pirate ship like it's just another day on the job.

Not complaining though. I prefer the new one. My brother actually thinks Winter Soldier is the best Marvel movie. Mine is Blade.

What were the Alliance soldiers shooting at during the evacuation scene? There were no uglies to shoot until after Shepard was hit by Harbingers beam.

Nihlus jumping out of the Normandy without a parachute while it is probably traveling at around 170 knots and surviving.

"Approaching drop point one" Nihlus jumps out.

"Approaching drop point two" Shepard jumps out.

Normandy hovers over the drop point. I don't know how Nihlus jumps out but Shepard and his crew do it too. Apparently there is a way to jump down like that without a Mako.

When droping Shepard the Normandy hovers with a pretty low altitude.

I  always got the Impression that the SR1s hangar doors could server as a ramp, further decreasing the distance to ground.

(I think it is shown during the Virmire bomb placement cutscene.)

But when Nihlus jumps out, the ship seems (afair) to be higher and moving pretty fast.

It seems to fly quite close to the surface: Link

The only thing indicating the speed and altitude of the Normandy is the sound. Which can very well still be the case if the Normandy was simply hovering above the ground, like in the case of drop point two.

If the Citadel was made by the Reapers, does that mean that they could have had it cause indoctrination if they had wanted it to when they constructed it?

Well, some may already believe that anyway. If not outright indoctrination than certainly an effective idiocy inducing magical field.

He's just that badass. The Spectre we wish we could be. His version of Mass Effect would look like Just Cause.

Yeah, that's why he just got a brief appearence. Otherwise he would make Shep look even more amiss.

But he corrects that when he stumbles across Saren. Suboptimal behavior.

Except the red dust, there is nothing that would indicate him leaving the Normandy, while it is still flying. I go with hovering, just like your own drop. standard procedures anyway, it's an Alliance vessel.

Padok Wiks: "The Shroud provides a layer of atmospheric particles to block the solar heat and maintain a livable climate."

Then this happens

Spoiler

So... what happens now?

From the wiki (It is not labeled as such, but I think this comes from the ME1 codex):

In order to maintain livable temperatures, a vast shroud was assembled at the L1 Lagrange point. It is maintained by the Council Demilitarization Enforcement Mission (CDEM) which is based on orbiting battlestations.

And for the shroud tower:

The Shroud was deployed through the use of a number of ground-based towers, which acted as mass-drivers that launched the Shroud's components into orbit.

[...]

The Shroud tower was repurposed to disperse particles and chemicals into Tuchanka's atmosphere, primarily for climate-control purposes.

I guess the actual shroud is still fine, it's just the tower and the (mostly unused?) chemical atmosphere manipulation that's gone.

Nobody recognizing Shepard during Kasumi's loyalty mission. The salarian vendor who had that Volus credit chit was able to recognize Shepard on the Citadel

Hock suspecting that it was Kasumi when greeting Ms. Gunn and not doing anything about it

Totally wasting those Mercs at Hock's place without alerting everyone else.  I always imagined the Carnifex as being loud as ****.

And what if Shepard took the window way in? No one noticed then either.

And why would Hock let a newcomer or anyone into his f***ing bedroom? And then I was surprised that Kasumi wasn't available for "let's bang okay?"

Spoiler

And no one recognized that wasn't Chief Roe's voice. Talk about some shitty ear pieces in 2185. Probably made in sweatshops in Bataria.

So, Padok Wiks is wrong?

Yes and no.

Many characters in ME3 refer to the tower as "the Shroud" although that is technically incorrect and I think the codex mentions this somewhere. The tower (last one standing) was actually part of the Shroud delivery mechanism used to launch tiny reflecting lenses into space at the Lagrange 1 point where they remain in stable orbit and block solar radiation.

The lenses are still there doing their job, but the towers were mostly destroyed during the rebellions. Only the one remained receiving the technically incorrect name of "the Shroud" and it was used for atmospheric repair. It's destruction does not mean Tuchanka is doomed, the orbital component of the shroud is still there.

Here's a good one: in 290 years since the Morning War, the Geth have not installed integrated weapons systems in their mobile platforms, and they have only forward sensors. Apparently they are not big on design improvement. One would think they would have at least installed a death ray, but I guess General Electric beat them on the patent.

Here's a better one. Why did the get go BACKWARDS in tech between me1 and me2? Even the codex notes that the organic design of Hoppers wasn't by quarians, meaning the geth are improving themselves. Not to mention their plasma based weaponry. Come me2 and 3, though and the only units they have are standard walk and shoot units. No shields no hoppers no drones, nothing. And they were the first to go back to the highly inefficient ammo system. Did the feedback that took out sovereign cause an AI loop with the geth or what? Seems like it rebooted them back to factory settings lol

Come to think of it, why doesn't the universal translator translate James' Spanish? I can understand it not catching Boshtet, a cuss word of a non council race, but one of the most common languages of humanity?

When the Mako is dropped off on Therum, Shepard and squad are in the Mako whereas Shepard and squad are outside of the Mako when dropped off on Virmire

Using a Turian to teach kids about Biotics just after the first contact war.

A. He may or may not have been a veteran of the conflict himself.

B. He certainly held a grudge.

C. Turians in general are portrayed as "loyal to the cause" and very patriotic.

D. He had the personality of a Varren - Vorcha crossbreed.

In what scenario was this a better idea than paying extra to some Asari mercenaries / ex-military?
