Anyone here knows the title or name of that epic combat music when you rescue Jacob and secure the roof or that moment you secure the N7 REACTOR BASE?

Oh yeah... that "epic" track... meh. I always thought this one screamed "generic".

I don't know, it felt as one of the best combat themes in the trilogy to me. Tastes differ, I guess :)

Yes! One of my favorites. Created by Christopher Lennertz.  It's called Combat Troops.

I thought Lennertz created some of the better combat tracks in the series. The one for LotSB was also very good.

The Overlord and LotSB soundtracks are great, but I think almost all of ME2's OST was outstanding. It is probably the single best OST to a game I've ever heard.

I normally don't like rehashes in games, but I loved hearing songs from ME2 in ME3, since most of them are just so, so good.

I think they could bring back a couple of those old tracks for ME:Next as well. I think the key is just to reuse them on a couple of side missions, while using new tracks for the main story missions.

Bioware won't... it would remind players about Mass Effect 3... they want a new galaxy without Shepard, I move the Music to die with Shepard.

I agree. If I hear trilogy soundtracks, I'll want to play as Shepard. And then get sad or pissed off.

New music is the way to go, along with new everything.

Did that music belong to Shepard or the Mass Effect setting though? I'd argue it's the latter, although I'd say the Galaxy Map and the Triumphant Mass Effect theme belongs to Shepard

----------------------------------------

Lennerz's music sounds kinda Hans Zimmer derivative to me. It's cinematic and bombastic, not quite as annoyingly loud, but it's not something I find myself humming once I've turned off the game. I find it pretty bland.

In general that's Mass Effect 3 for me. It's all background music except for a handful of good ones like Mars, The Clint Mansell music (which, despite all are quite iconic in a way) and the Catalyst/Wake Up.

ME1 had the Mass Effect theme, but even when music was bland it had a distinct vibe to it that I think Jack Wall really contributed to, and even if I don't remember the melody I can hear the soundscape of it and go "that's Mass Effect!" and for the most part that vibe was retained in ME2.

Strangely many of ME3's new reoccurring themes and motifs strike more of a resemblance to Batman or Deus Ex Human Revolution to me. The only tracks that retained the distinct ME vibe was Mars and Wake Up IMO.
