Always 4-man death squad.
Always.
I end up with teammates who think they're a death squad but they usually mean their deaths.
So I stand away from them to avoid splash damage.

I just run around in circles shooting at anything and hoping I hit something. When I get downed I just blame it on the lag.
Speed is the essence of war. Take advantage of the enemy's unpreparedness; travel by unexpected routes and strike him where he has taken no precautions.
AKA put an Adrenaline mod III on a Fury and run around like an absolute lunatic priming with AF and detonating with Throw.
Drell works too...
... or in fact pretty much any kit where "running around like a loony" is a viable strategy.
My strategy is simple: Infiltrate.
Its not about spending time with the Phantoms, or coffee breaks with Nemesis, nor with the Brutes snacking on Cannibals. None of them, not even the Reaperized Geth bodies are my friends.
Descend upon your enemy like a demon out of the night. Unsuspected and undetected, your strike must be quick, efficient and lethal. No quarter must be given to the enemy, for they will give you none - there will be no prisoners taken. If you have anything to give to your enemy, it must be Death.
Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, hear the lamentation of the Banshees.
Keep calm and Carry On"Infamy! Infamy! They've all got it in fer me!"
My play style in most games is to just lumber into the middle of the battlefield, attract the attention of the biggest, baddest boss enemy, plop down my hex shield, and just use heavy melee on the boss enemy through the shield until my teammates kill it.

Have more bullets than the other guy.
I mean thermal clips.
Don't stay in one place; keep moving!
The enemy AI is constantly flanking you or spawning behind you. Where to go next depends on the map and your team, just don't stop. This is especially true for snipers, who are often exposed or alone.

I see all those "one's" and hear, ping ping ping pingpingpingping "Player down!"
Teammates are the best soft cover.
AIU Reegar w/incendiary IV. MELT ALL THE THINGS!!!!
(Though AIU Wraith is also fun. Use Smart Choke and get headshots on infantry from improbable distances.)
Since I completed Combat Mastery again over the weekend, I have a new strategy: Run around and grab things like crazy.
