Would this be feasible?

I'm playing a Qunari mage, gonna spec him into Rift eventually. I have a ring that gives me 10% health back and a belt that increases healing by 20% but I don't know if these two stack. I also have a fade-touched stormheart which increases damage by 30%... at the cost of 300% increased damage. That's a lot. So I'm wondering if this would be at all reasonable? I'd probably die A LOT. But man. That damage. Especially with the vitaar added in.

Someone else may have a more exact answer for you, but I used the Berserk fade-touched mat once. On a warrior even. It...went poorly. Granted, this was my first PT, so my build wasn't as good as later warrior builds. But that FT item, really didn't work out for me. Trashed the armor, once I figured out why said warrior was dying all the time. :pinched:

As for the belt and ring, those should work together, since I believe they mechaically are different. Again, someone with better info (and terminology...lol!) will probably answer this more thoroughly than I have. FT with Berserk though, seems to be more trouble than it's worth. Just my .02. ;)

The 30% Damage Bonus is tempting indeed, and if you play a purely ranged Mage, then you shouldn't have any problems...technically speaking. You aren't a KE, so you should focus on having tanks in your team and avoiding aggro (Peaceful Aura is useful at that...plus having Barrier never hurts either). Make your tanks have several Vanguard tree skills plus resilient equipment and you should be good to go.

At least that's what I'm gonna do in my next Qunari Mage KE Nightmare playthough...if Bioware bothers to fix the AoP bug.

Just picked up two pieces of fade-touched canine leather which increases damage by 10% if you haven't been hit for five seconds. I'm going to assume this is RNGesus' way of greenlighting the idea of a berserker mage.

The berserker effect is feasible, but in my experience (on nightmare) the drawbacks usually outweigh the benefits, even for a KE. The one spec that does well with it is a necromancer geared for abusing the simulacrum+rebirth effect. That way it becomes beneficial to take as much damage as possible.

It can work, I use FT Stormheart on my KE Qunari mage, but the added damage you take means you absolutely need barrier 100% of the time if you get into melee at all. Meaning every time anything gets close to you, Barrier has got to go up immediately. On a KE, it isn't hard to keep barrier up in melee, a RM may have a bit more trouble doing it but, the damage bonus is nice as long as you can keep barrier going.

That combo was the first thing I had in mind as a necro, but it never worked. Did they patch rebirth working after simulacrum ends?

Edit: Btw its not a bug if it works, or an exploit... its clever use of game mechanics.

Hm, it didn't work as in you died when simulacrum ran out, or something else went wrong? Last I saw (couple of days ago) it still worked.

I am going to be using this on my current immortal necromancer build.  I am using fade-touched snoufleur (1% heal on hit) as well.  As soon as I can get myself the fade-touched Stormheart or Veridium I will give it a go.  I do pop up after the rare death at the moment.  I can't wait to try it with the beserk fade-touched.
