My tooltip doesn't change but I've read posts (e.g. Drasca) that indicate it works.

Even if it does I wouldn't use it. Assuming the other spot is taken up by a HoK ring I would take a superb attack or crit damage ring instead. The only exception would be Longshot or Walking Bomb rings.

Crit damage isn't consistent on Katari even striking from behind with Opportunist, while CB damage is. CB also has the opportunity to hit multiple times, not just on multiple enemies but the same enemy as well, with the secondary hits benefiting from the knocked down damage passive-- and if you're lucky, fervor. The only exception are people who already have 100+ promotes in cunning and already know who they are that benefit the most from Crit Bonus Damage Rings.

 

Superb attack is only 10%. Mighty Blow ring would be better than no CB ring, given it is lethal damage as opposed to sub-lethal.

 

LS and WB do not apply to Katari.

i need me a HoK in a bad, bad way. on the plus side, I scored caliban yesterday. I still died, but at least I died in style.

I'm pretty sure it works.  Enemies that I used to knock down with charging bull are much more likely to die when I have the Charging Bull ring on.  I use it along with a HoK ring for the other hand.
