1. Pre Skyhold which class is the strongest?

2. From these 6 which class is the most fun to play? (1h Warrior, 2h Warrior, Archer, DW, DPS Mage or Support Mage)

I would really like to hear peoples opinion or experience, thanks.

Ranged for pre Skyhold, Mage or rouge. You simply don't have the health or abilities to make a melee really strong then.

I like KE mage, not because you CAN spam Spirit blade and get through any fight unscathed but, because you can use it with any mage tree you like and, are fine if you need to get into melee but, have the ranged, AoE and CC spells as well. It's versatile and, you have a lot of option to choose from as a KE.

When starting a new character besides the 2 starting skills and weapon is there any difference between a DW Rouge and Archer or a 1h and 2h warrior?

1. Archer

2. DW Rogue and 2H Warrior. Range gets boring in my opinion, I like being up front. Knight Enchanter is too powerful, so he doesn't get playtime on my playthroughs. Having a good group composition that's not too overpowered makes for a fun time imo. I recommend a 3 member party from the start, 1 of each class, no barrier!

There is no difference because you can respec very soon to one or the other.

Right now im using an archer but I'm worried about range getting boring. I have Cas, Black and Viv in my party and I like this party but not sure If I like being the archer in it.

I don't really seem to favor 1 class over other but I haven't got to the advanced classes yet.

I played a warrior on first playthrough to get a hang of how the threat abilities work and because warriors can take a punch. Two-hand warrior is tons of fun.

Your warriors should have WarCry+Upgrade. The AI warrior should have Challenge as well.

Archer is fun in it's own way and much "safer" to play than just about any class other than KE.

Dual Wield Rogue is risky but very rewarding. If you have a firm understanding of how the combat works and how all the class skills work, then playing DW Rogue becomes great.

Check out this post:

I made several posts in it about Dual Wield Rogues.

As for advanced classes...I wouldn't worry about them too much. They have some powerful abilities, but I think sticking to most of the core class trees is much funner.

Strongest warrior pre-skyhold: SnS. You can chain-stun/knockdown enemies constantly with shield bash/payback/bull

Strongest Rogue pre-skyhold: Archer

Strongest mage pre-skyhold: Pure fire. Fire mine + flash fire + immolate, and best for last wall of fire - are all fantastic skills. The fire tree does not have one bad skill. 2nd would be static cage + energy barrage combo, but this is less strong early. Lategame though - Static cage + EB is the strongest spell-combo in the game. Especially with crit.

My mage is running a combo of energy barrage, immolate and fire mine. It seems to work pretty well but I'm not that good at timing fire mine.

if your having trouble with timing on fire mine. Pair it with static cage (upgraded preferably) or PotA.  On all but the real big enemies this will keep them in a single place long enough to get firemine going and potentially hit a bunch of them for good damage.  And makes it a little easier to practice your timing on the bigger enemies by keeping the smaller ones out of the way as well.

I might try that when I get more points but im still low level. I just switched out spells. I'm using energy barrage + upgrade with conductive current. Immolate, fade step and barrier. Seems to work pretty good, I haven't  givin up on fire mine just trying other combo's. I only level 6 on this character so options limited.

well as has been mentioned energy barrage + static cage is really strong.  And an upgraded static cage can be made useful on things that it can't trap inside of it if it's placed right.  With quick mana regen to follow the upgraded cage you can drop it in front of or on top of a more stationary big enemy and then fire an energy barrage in for quite a bit of damage. Even though it flashes up in what seems to be smaller numbers on the screen and not just one big hit.   It's a set that really gets more affective as the game goes on and you get more passives in your favor but can be useful early on as well.
