Hey all,

 

I'm about halfway through the game, and just recently I have started taking on the various high dragons. I have been trying to find the dragon in the Western Approach, and I have been doing Frederic's quests, but I think there may be a bug. I have completed "Draconology," "Frederic's Livelihood," "How to Lure a Dragon," "A Manuscript of Some Authority," and I have completed the operation in the war room to translate the manuscript, and I returned it to him. However, once he gets it back, he says something about the baits and asks if I've seen any Gurns with burn marks or something and then there are no more quest-related dialogue options. I read something about "Sharper White Claws" and "Hunting Patterns," but I have not received these quests and I am not sure where to get them. Is this a bug? If so, is there some way to kill the dragon without going through Frederic?

Frederic should have sent you to find things the dragon has fed on, that's the gurn skeletons. Use the search function to locate them when you are near one. Then you need to destroy the traps and, kill the raiders, then you can place bait and get the dragon.

There is an investigate option with Frederick you need to pick. Upper Left. Something along the lines of "You study dragons?"
