Here's a solution... How about they fix the game so people don't have crashes in 4/5 and lose xp?

It must be some kind of memory leak because I've been in parties with friends and as soon as one crashes, it's like a domino effect.

I am against preserving XP for players who are kicked from the match. Some players try to join games and do nothing so they can get free xp. No XP for players who arent playing with the rest of the team. If you come in during wave 1-2 and THEN get kicked because players realize you are a douch, still no xp for you.

I can deal with all of your above issues also, even level 1 players. What I can't stand is freeload idle players and those that open doors solo.

Agreed... People who get kicked should not get any xp.

Well lets see, the number of times a player has been kicked in games I've played, even if they fully deserve it.  About 3 times.  the number of times I've lost all exp from crashes and such about 100.

The answer is pretty clear to me.

Except that this has the potential for abuse. See "kick button abuse" thread. And what does it matter if they sit there and do nothing and they get kicked, if they're only awarded the EXP that they earn? (Which would still be zero, in this circumstance). That is what I'm talking about. I'm not proposing that you keep the entire team's EXP per zone, just your own.

I haven't had an issue with actual leechers, because most of the time it is people failing to join. They get a black load screen and fail to appear, or other network issues occur. Once bugs are fixed then maybe other  leeching issues may happen... but to be honest since I can carry Perilous most of the time, I don't mind if players sit back and leech. It is when they mess with aggro management that bugs me.

You can also vote kick if someone becomes a real problem.

lol yeah i could tell u were getting irritated. I was trying hard not to aggro anything with my ele but I probably slipped up so I apologize if it was me. I'm ordering a headset today because it's impossible to communicate with you guys.

Well, pulling the spawn out unit by unit from the distance is not such a bad idea. Although it diminishes the yield of templar combo as it would miss more enemies. ;)  Typically I don't care but as a courtesy to the host, it might be a good idea to behave. Unfortunately, there are some side effects to that as the front line force runs forward and the rear gets bum rushed by ... 8 hyenas appearing out of thin air. It is not that very funny especially if the front keeps running like there is no tomorrow (more promotions in shorter time?) and gets engaged with the next spawn. There are multiple ways to manage aggro. The only thing that matters is consensus with the team. As the team is not being asked, I beg to disagree.

I have a mic, just always forget to plug it in.

Only your own xp isn`t that great of a deal and at best 50% of your total xp - even that is in fewer cases. I wouldn`t understand such a proposal, as the main reason for it is to get the xp I would have gotten anyway because Bioware can`t code. So, I want ALL the xp I would have gotten in each zone, not a part of it.

As for abuse, well... some people have to earn their paychecks and think of something better than stealing my xp. I can only agree with "all or nothing" at this point.

Sure ok. The idea of my post was to promote a compromise, not an ultimatum.

Well, only your xp isn`t doing any good, as you get, at best, half of what you would get normally. The downside to "personal xp" is that it will promote individualistic play, which nobody likes. Because, if you award only personal xp, you promote individualistic play - "let`s get as much xp on my own, so, IF I crash, I get the most of it" - AW comes to mind - you just gave them the perfect excuse to cover their asshattery: "Yeah, well, I crash a lot so I`m just running ahead and being a general asshat because I am scared I`ll crash and lose my xp. No, by all means, feel free to open doors, I`ll just aggro and kill the whole area, because I crash a lot, you see, and I need the xp - great idea from Bioware, btw".

That is one of the reasons why compromising outside "all or none" is not such a great idea imo.

I don't see how retaining individual EXP is in any way more or less enabling than retaining total EXP. In fact, I would argue that allowing an AW pug, for example, to retain everyone's EXP as they go, would be an even greater incentive for soloing a public game. If he's going to get kicked, why not take out as much as possible and still retain the scraps everyone else got?

Right now it is how things are: our friendly AW gets everyone`s xp anyway, minus crashes, of course. So, right now, he has no extra incentives other than him being an arsehole.

Under your proposed rules, he will have an extra incentive - personal xp suddenly matters more, as you get to keep it, if your game malfunctions, so he will actively and purposefully look for as much personal xp as he can get his hands on - you just game an arsehole a reason to be even more of an arsehole.

I don`t think kicked players should retain anything. That is a mistake and it will be a larger mistake if your proposal ever sees the light of day.

Case: Right now, any player knows that the xp is a common pool and everybody gets it. Under your current proposal, any player will know that it is a race: get as much personal xp as fast as you can, as often you can. And there is a very big difference between working towards the same goals and trying to be better than the ones you are working with... towards the same goals. Dead men don`t get xp, so what`s to stop me from soloing or not supporting you after you`re dead? What is to stop the Keeper never to give anyone Barrier? (sure, it happens anyway, but we have a race now, not a team) What is to stop an Archer or an Assassin to NOT target high priority targets and let the melee just die from Archers? List can go on and on about "let`s troll your team mates, so you come on top", because now we have a race - if I crash I get low xp, so why would I bother properly tanking with a Legio and end up for sure bottom of the scorecard, when I can just yolo with my AW or not revive?

ok I see your point. Believe me, I would love it if they'd just award collective EXP as we go... I just don't see it happening. Then again, I don't see my request happening either.

I found that changing direct x to mantle helps a lot with the crash to desktops. Only problem I found is that the gpu gets a little toasty causing some fairly noisy fans on my 7950. I really would prefer to use direct x though since I have a pretty solid processor that would take some stress off my gpu. For now though since bioware is really slow to release any sort of "fixes", I'm going to have to change order new fans to keep the noise down on my gpu...

On single player though, I tried using all kinds of settings and everything is pretty stable since patch 5. Haven't had a single crash which is awesome. It's just too bad there's only so much you can do in single player.
