I had the same issue with Gearbox's Borderlands. The game is full of issues, but no patch. All I got from the devs. was ".....that they are aware o fthe issue....". No more Borderlands for me. With Fallout New Vegas, Brink and a potential Oblivion this year, I can see PS3 owners switching over and not returning if the simple things cannot be rectified.

framerates will NOT be fixed in the patch, you can blame Sony's hardware

^ That's pretty much a lame excuse if u look at it. Ps3 hardware its just as good as any others. U comments make u sounds like a lame fanboy or ignorant gamer (no offenses).
The PS3 hardware might be "just as good" as the 360, but the 360 is like a PC, the PS3 is like nothign else.
Neither the PS3 or 360 can get good framerates, but the PS3 usually has worse framerates. That is simply fact.
Go head over to lensoftruth for their side by sides. And PS3 is my PRIMARY gaming device, I own PC and XBOX too so "fanboy" has nothing to do with my comments.
FACT BOY has everything to do with my posts:wizard:

Alright, this is just beautiful.... After months of no response to the veritable schmorgesborg of existing Ps3 issues, a Bioware rep Victor Watcher replied to the thread "Dear BioWare:: Help please" The moderators actually responded to somebody who wanted their money back because their "dog ate their disc".
WTF?!
"Yeah, uh, I've been having these really bad clipping framerate issues on my PS3 copy of Dragon Age ever since my, uh, my Dog, (yeah that's it, blame the "Dog") "chewed" on my copy of Dragon Age. Do you think you could fix the framerate since it was my "Dog" who messed it up?
Thanks, Love and Kisses

They're better at handling dogs than bugs at Bioware.

The only glitch i have ever really had was when my character didn't walk but glided on his feet, and while killing those reavers i never had any drops until i rebooted the game.
you obviously weren't paying too much attention while playing... because there are a tonne of bugs in that game.

Just got the game and i must say i love the floating people.
floating people... quest markers that don't go away... horrendous clipping of things that even the most novice devs can eliminate... god-knows-how-many camera out of the world spots... terrible resolution on the ending cutscene... constant server de-syncing... dialog audio not playing sometimes... the fact that your character shows absolutely zero emotion throughout the entire game... terrible frame rate problems especially in cutscenes where it stutters for maybe half of a second every 2 or 3 seconds... i could go on for a while.

really? you not once noticed the horrid camera clipping through the world everywhere (either by walking entirely through a wall or adjusting the camera at a certain angle)? or the constant character animation glitching during cutscenes? or the countless amounts of quest markers that don't go away (or they reappear) if you didn't do the quest in the right order? or the really awful pixelation in the final cutscene killing the archdemon? or the texture seams on various characters? or the framerate issues (during cutscenes, during in-game battles, etc...)? or people floating 6 feet in the air (the maid in arl eamon's estate in denerim)? or wounded soldiers standing on top of or clipping through their cots?
shall i go on? the point is, i guess, that this game is a buggy mess that really needs to get fixed. the only thing that i can give it so far is that it has not crashed.
Just chiming in here... but no. I've not hit any of that, and I'm almost 50 hours into the game. In fact the only complaint I have is it doesn't look as crisp as my PC version, but I got over that.
you're obviously not paying attention. it's all there and i've done two full playthroughs so far. an excellent out of the world spot is in denerim. if you're facing the exit in the north eastern section of the market, walk towards the left corner. you'll go through the wall almost entirely and rotating the camera will result in you, the user, seeing out of the world. stuff like that should never be in the game (and there is a LOT of that garbage in the game), no matter how open world it is

Bold= Problems that could be related to hardware issues.
Italic= Problems that could be coding related.
Underline= assumed by someone who clearly has never dealt with graphics design in any way shape or form or is irrelevant. (Note: Pick up the trail version of Maya(I think it's Maya. A well spent 16,000 for schooling) and play 3rd graphics rendering.)
Frame rate issues are not coding it is and always will be a hardware issue. No matter how much people may say "But the PS3 and Xbox are like .... a computer, dude."

lol none of the things you highlighted in bold as possibly hardware-related are actually hardware-related. i've done more than enough video game QA to know none of those things are because of the console's hardware - even the server de-syncing.
as far as clipping goes - some is acceptable, there's no real way to eliminate it entirely (nor should the end user expect there to be none whatsoever), but it is unacceptable to be able to walk through a wall or turn the camera and see out of the world. that's just lazy and it only shows that they really don't give two squirts about the quality of their game.

So how bad is the frame rate issues? I want to get this for the PS3, but I guess the 360 is my only option, unless there is a Mac version.
It hasn't made it unplayable for me but it has gotten bad at times, but luckily not as bad as I have read about others having. Most of my lag happens when rotating the camera. The occasional random graphic pop ins have been more frustrating for me then the frame rate loss. That along with the loss of dialogue speech with the background music stutter..
