Works for me, what not to do is just as important
Well couple things to mention, if you're moving up to Platinums and putting the hard work in to get ready for em, don't be surprised when you see a bunch of people not doing that. Building a bit of a skin to frustration will help as well as consumables.
It's a true pug lottery in a Game in Progress, so don't be afraid to really shop your lobbies till you find a group that looks likely. If you leave a game that GiP'd you into it without firing a shot you won't lose your equipment, you will have to re-equip it though. *Note this doesn't always work. Some people believe that if you get killed/sync'd you lose it regardless but that's also not true. I don't know what does it but it works enough of the time to make it worthwhile. On PC I regularly join several games to be shunted into one already going that I in no way shape or form want to be in. =/
This bit might not be popular on BSN but you might find useful regardless. On PC fairly recently I've seen/played with some Puggernaut/Volus duos that have gone extremely well. Slow, but good team work and coordination. You might see some of those, the games are going to be longer but more likely to succeed. I actually quite enjoyed playing with a couple different ones. There are a few juggernauts out there doing a great job, they don't just sit there they're active and doing more damage than many. They can act like training wheels if you're following them around. They also act like big [AOE HERE] signs which is just great fun on a class that combo's itself.
I put almost all of my early credits into getting as many characters unlocked as possible. For me it was even more important than weapons. I finally found a kit I really meshed well with and stuck with it for a long while in platinums. (Paladin, fyi.) My suggestion, try different kits, lots of em.
Every time you try a new kit, read up on everything that's batsh1t bonkers about it Here.
