I would really like some people to teach me/help me get better at gold/plat. I've played a bit, got some classes and weapons, but never really tried to complete Platinum.

If a few friendly people who like to help me out, I would very much appreciate it

Buy packs till you unlock Geth Juggernaut and Reegar Carbine. Get it to level 20. Spec it out like this

http://kalence.drupa...!13Q53364!.8GEE

1) Find a platinum lobby with two three infiltrators. GI preferrably.

2) Stay near them and keep banshees/phantoms and all other scary sync killers occupied.

3) Don't forget to redeploy turret when its destroyed.

4) And use Heavy Melee to restore shields.

5) Rinse and repeat for profit.

1) Find a platinum lobby

2) Pick up phantoms and blow their head away

3) If it doesn't die from Claymore, follow it with Siege Pulse for FE

4) Rinse and repeat for profit.

While that may be a working strat, I don't want to only be doing one thing all the time. That's why I'm looking for people to play with and learn from

If you mean literal godmode, that would be cheating, right?

That is a valid strat for starters. It's much different than a gold game and platinum games will have enemies from all factions in one game and there are more boss units dealing much more damage as well as having much higher HP and armor. Even with juggernaut surviving in platinum when you are starting is quite hard.

I did it while I started playing platinum team games while I got familiarized with it. Then switched to different weapons and different kits after a bunch of games. And now I don't have much problem in platinum team games provided game isn't too laggy.

Yes, I put it in the title for a reason.

I'm sure like most other games, cheating isn't something that's allowed, and I'm fairly sure there is no legitimate way to turn on godmode.

Consumables are basically required to do well in Platinum, is that correct?

Works for me, what not to do is just as important

Correct. Consumables aren't just required they are "necessary". Without consumables platinum difficulty turns into masochistic difficulty.

I guess the question becomes, what's the best way to earn money so I can stockpile consumables? Do I run gold over and over without consumables, then use the money to buy Jumbo Equipment Packs?

Sure, you can add me. My Origin is dasriboflavin.

Gold runs on Glacier with low level consumables (I'm talking level 1 everything) can be very, very fast and a good way to farm credits if you are comfortable playing gold. Once you're okay with platinum, then you'll probably want to just do that. Platinum is easy if you've got one or two good teammates, whether or not they're using OP kits, since you will get 150k+ credits in a single round.

And yes, mostly go with Jumbo packs for the +5 medigel/ops/cobras/thermals it gives. Sometimes you'll get level 3 consumables. That aside, you'll mostly want to buy Arsenal packs to acquire your level 4 consumables, since Reserves Packs (and PSPs afaik) sometimes give character cards.

Jumbo equipment packs aren't the best choice for lvl III and lvl IV consumables. For Ops Packs/Thermal Clips/Rockets and Medi Gel sure they are best but premium spectre packs or arsenal packs are a much better choice for lvl III and IV consumables.

What you should do is. Play gold games with lvl II consumables or three if you have some spare lying around. And buy a Jumbo equipment pack every two games or veteran pack after every successful wave 10/extraction on gold. Hoard some credits till they are over a million or two and then buy premium spectre packs or arsenal packs in a go. That should get you some Ultra Rare weapons as well as unlocking new character kits and weapons/mods/gears as well as some lvl IV consumables that can be put to good use in platinum games.

Well couple things to mention, if you're moving up to Platinums and putting the hard work in to get ready for em, don't be surprised when you see a bunch of people not doing that. Building a bit of a skin to frustration will help as well as consumables.

It's a true pug lottery in a Game in Progress, so don't be afraid to really shop your lobbies till you find a group that looks likely. If you leave a game that GiP'd you into it without firing a shot you won't lose your equipment, you will have to re-equip it though. *Note this doesn't always work. Some people believe that if you get killed/sync'd you lose it regardless but that's also not true. I don't know what does it but it works enough of the time to make it worthwhile. On PC I regularly join several games to be shunted into one already going that I in no way shape or form want to be in. =/

This bit might not be popular on BSN but you might find useful regardless. On PC fairly recently I've seen/played with some Puggernaut/Volus duos that have gone extremely well. Slow, but good team work and coordination. You might see some of those, the games are going to be longer but more likely to succeed. I actually quite enjoyed playing with a couple different ones. There are a few juggernauts out there doing a great job, they don't just sit there they're active and doing more damage than many. They can act like training wheels if you're following them around. They also act like big [AOE HERE] signs which is just great fun on a class that combo's itself.

I put almost all of my early credits into getting as many characters unlocked as possible. For me it was even more important than weapons. I finally found a kit I really meshed well with and stuck with it for a long while in platinums. (Paladin, fyi.) My suggestion, try different kits, lots of em.

Every time you try a new kit, read up on everything that's batsh1t bonkers about it Here.

Well, depending on the kits and weapons you have unlocked you may already be able to play platinum in a somewhat successful way. If you like playing some of the stronger setups than that's even better. The problem is knowing which setups are regarded as readily platinum viable. If you would post your Origin ID I would be glad to play some matches. I'm somewhat new to PC, but not at all new to the game.

Under no circumstances do you follow this advice.

You can play platinum with any and every kit in this game, and your best bet is to get your feet wet with classes you play good with. The Juggernaut teaches bad habits because of how large your margin for error is, and it will take you longer to get better since eventually you'll have to take the training wheels off.
