Under no circumstances do you follow this advice.

You can play platinum with any and every kit in this game, and your best bet is to get your feet wet with classes you play good with. The Juggernaut teaches bad habits because of how large your margin for error is, and it will take you longer to get better since eventually you'll have to take the training wheels off.

LOL

bioware doesn't care if you cheat in me3 anymore.

Really? I've heard people talking about using coalesced to unlock everything in multiplayer.

Well, depending on the kits and weapons you have unlocked you may already be able to play platinum in a somewhat successful way. If you like playing some of the stronger setups than that's even better. The problem is knowing which setups are regarded as readily platinum viable. If you would post your Origin ID I would be glad to play some matches. I'm somewhat new to PC, but not at all new to the game.

Sure thing, it's Heretic_KtS - added to original post

Well couple things to mention, if you're moving up to Platinums and putting the hard work in to get ready for em, don't be surprised when you see a bunch of people not doing that. Building a bit of a skin to frustration will help as well as consumables.

It's a true pug lottery in a Game in Progress, so don't be afraid to really shop your lobbies till you find a group that looks likely. If you leave a game that GiP'd you into it without firing a shot you won't lose your equipment, you will have to re-equip it though. *Note this doesn't always work. Some people believe that if you get killed/sync'd you lose it regardless but that's also not true. I don't know what does it but it works enough of the time to make it worthwhile. On PC I regularly join several games to be shunted into one already going that I in no way shape or form want to be in. =/

This bit might not be popular on BSN but you might find useful regardless. On PC fairly recently I've seen/played with some Puggernaut/Volus duos that have gone extremely well. Slow, but good team work and coordination. You might see some of those, the games are going to be longer but more likely to succeed. I actually quite enjoyed playing with a couple different ones. There are a few juggernauts out there doing a great job, they don't just sit there they're active and doing more damage than many. They can act like training wheels if you're following them around. They also act like big [AOE HERE] signs which is just great fun on a class that combo's itself.

I put almost all of my early credits into getting as many characters unlocked as possible. For me it was even more important than weapons. I finally found a kit I really meshed well with and stuck with it for a long while in platinums. (Paladin, fyi.) My suggestion, try different kits, lots of em.

Every time you try a new kit, read up on everything that's batsh1t bonkers about it Here.

I've had that happen a few times, I've joined, died and left, and kept all my consumables. I've done the same thing, I've spent most of my credits on Reserve Packs, trying to unlock all the different classes. I still don't have the Turian Ghost, which is a shame because I would really like to try him

Yeah that is a fun kit to play and also quite forgiving because of stim packs. And has damage bonus for assault rifles. Shame though that stability passives don't work offhost. You will unlock remaining kits weapons in time. It's a long process. Keep playing gold and platinum, spending space credits and keep praying to RNG gods.

Add me. Origin ID is same as BSN username. Will be glad to help you get some space credits.

I think the TGI is actually a good class for new platinum players to use. I know he's considered a crutch class, but the TGI isn't like the AIU--he has little damage ability unless you can aim (with AIU, just pick a Reegar or Claymore or such and aim in the general direction of enemies). TGI rewards good aim, and many of the ARs also reward good aim. Once you're comfortable with that, you can move on to a character like GI or AIU.

LOL

Spoiler

So what they really need is to work their way up with players that will help them actually improve at the game, rather than carry them.

Thank you for the fun games. In my opinion, you're amazing and definitely capable of playing Gold and Platinum and the only thing you have to focus on at the moment is upgrading your weapons.

Heretic_Kts - that last Platinum game we played - you owned it! Seriously, have more confidence!

I'd love to play some more games with you ;*

Dude your PC was acting up :P

Me, Heretic_KtS and two other pugs played and completed two platinum games in 22 and 24 mins when you left. Nobody was lagging or rubber banding.

Spoiler

Nobody died that much compared to that glacier game where host was having low fps problem :D

Yeah, but conversely I played a random pug game about an hour later with the same PC and got 60fps as usual...so something about our PCs there is that has a mutual dislike....

I had minor rubber banding issues in my game with Zonagle/Heretic but that may just have been because the map was Rio. Though we had no trouble extracting in that game, either. You played well!

12MHz was definitely OP. Especially if you had the 286 with 4k of on-chip cache

"VGA card" as the appellation for a current graphics card is like referring to a BluRay player as a "phonograph" :P
