I did a search, and found there was a topic for this... but it had 5 posts in it. So I'm starting a new one. :P

I'm really enjoying it. I confess, I didn't think I'd have any interest in any more Assassin's Creed games after Revelations, but this one has played around with the formula enough to make it interesting to me, again. I'm still pretty early on, but I see myself putting quite a bit of playtime into it.

Also, this is an excuse to link a video I just recorded an hour ago, the easiest assassination in any AC game that I've ever played, so far:

How close to the AC3 ship mechanic is the blag flag mechanic? It's on sale on Steam so I'm tempted but I didn't like the ship controls; it was something I just did not find fun in AC3.

AC Black Flag is probably the only AC i really enjoyed, bc pirates. Sea, ships... my god. Need another game like this, not necessarily AC.

Also the Ezio trilogy is another fav of mine.... Aveline's game would've been great if it had the AC3-4 controls and graphics (yes i know, it's from PSP) but they could at least make a new game with her. Much like Rogue which was a short game compared to the rest.

i really like the game, but the storyline playing in the present is by far the worst of all ACs imo, nothing but annoying interruptions.

what also sucks is that i´m always hitting a CPU-limit with a hexacore i7@3,3GHz.

oh, and these goddamn shantys. there are maybe 4 of them i would call "acceptable". the soundtrack should have been made by Alestorm.

nevertheless i had a lot of fun with the game.

i can only speak for myself; i hated the sea battles in AC3 (i hate the entire game tbh) but loved them in AC4.

I'm debating on whether or not I want to get this.  I've heard good things, but I don't like uplay.

I confess, I didn't play AC3 long enough to get to the part with the ships, so I don't know how close they are. The ship battles are definitely somewhat complicated, and difficult to get a handle on (I still don't know how to use the mortars I bought) but I'm enjoying it, nonetheless.

So far, I haven't had any issues, although I am playing on console.

The modern-day stuff is pretty disappointing. It's sort of supposed to try and bring you in by switching to first-person, and not identifying you as any particular character. But it has the opposite effect, by constantly reminding you that you're playing a video game every time it comes up.

Sorry, I couldn't get into this game. I did finish AC3 though. Do I get a cookie for that?

I honestly didnt enjoy it. I thought the sea combat was excellent, but the game got old and fast.

One of the best games in the series Edward is much more fun to play then Connor and the navel combat was a nice change from just stabbing people all the time. The modern day bits suck but i enjoy this and rogue the most because they mix naval and assassinations into the game. Ezio trilogy is great but i miss the naval content.

I wasn't originally going to obsessively unlock everything, because I had done that in the past, and it generally didn't have any impact on the game until the very end, when whatever you unlocked was no longer relevant.

But this time, I am obsessively doing it again, because those Sea Shanties...

I loved the setting, the shanties and just pirating in general. Naval combat is surprisingly fun, as is boarding ships. But all the characters fell super flat for me, both in the present day and in the past. There's a couple of notable deaths that I suppose are meant to be emotional for the player, but the execution was such that I ended up just not caring.

Loved it. Spent most of my time trying to upgrade and robbing ships. I didn't get far in the story either.

My second favorite AC the only thing holding it back for me is the **** stalking missions.

Man, I couldn't disagree more. Edward, Adewale, Mary, Thatch...I loved them all. I thought it was the strongest bunch of characters in the series. I thought even Vane ended up being pretty well done in the tragic sort of way. YMMV, I guess.

I've finished Black Flag several times (I was a fan of AC serie 'til Unity... Thanks Ubisoft to make it only for PS4 and with microtransations in game so I could left the saga!).

If you want an help or a tip (NOT A GUIDE! That should be unfair!), you could contact me here or via PM. ;)
