Masterwork materials are useless in there current state

It cannot be used when crafting because it never shows up to be added to the item you want to put it on.
These types of topics would never be posted if Bioware simply provided basic detailed instructions for things like this like they're supposed to at the time you encounter them in the game.

Okay, you're definitely trolling. It was iffy there for a while. I was actually starting to question whether you were really just not very bright and aggressively hostile towards anyone who questioned it, but with this one, that makes about 6 threads like this in the space of a week.

I don't care what you or anyone says, until the instructiins have been given on how to add masterwork material to items, I'll continue saying The masterwork material does not show up in the craft item list to add it to the item. There is also no way to add it to an already made item. I have at least 9 masterwork materials sitting in my inventory that I cannot do anything with.
I'm going to start attaching videos to these topics because I'm so sick of people like you saying what I post is false when it's a fact.
Now shut the hell up and get lost. You are what's all wrong with forums. How about you start helping instead of dismissing every little thing someone posts, just because you disagree with it.

I'm sorry Mystic, but you are wrong. I have a shield that has a chance at 10% chance of causing Chain Lightning at 75% strength. I created it less than 3 hours ago, after I got the game patched. If you'd like, I will happily post a screenshot of my shield, and the weapon I made with another masterwork piece. My armor has a 10% chance of causing Walking Bomb at 50% weapon strength as well.
Also, I can also make and post an album on imgur as to how I did it, and what schematics I use. I'm not being sarcastic or snarky, I promise. I would like to try to give you a hand, since I know you're frustrated.
Edit: Did you make sure to recruit Dagna from the War Table mission just after you get to Skyhold? You have to talk to Cullen first, I think. The slots won't appear unless you do that, so you might have overlooked it. I'm not saying you did, but it's worth double checking. It also isn't on all schematics even after Dagna is recruited. You can't get access to masterwork slots until then. If you're still in Haven, you'll have to finish that up before you can recruit her.

When people try to help you, you call them liars.
Please don't call Natashina a liar, ZeroMystic. Please. She's pretty much the only person still trying to be nice to you.

How about explaining how the frig to add it to an item instead of just talking out your ass.
You full well know there is no way to just add masterwork material to an item and it requires a very precise proceedure that has not been explained.
So quit leaving stupid replies like it doesn't require anything special.
You and others also need to quit assuming things people know things just because you do. If Bioware explained things like they are supposed to, I wouldn't be posting about it.

Here, ZeroMystic. She went into more detail.

You must get out of Haven, and to Skyhold, before it will be possible to add masterwork materials to an item. You must get Dagna to come to Skyhold by way of a wartable mission.
Once Dagna is at Skyhold, you need to go into the Undercroft. There will be a cutscene introducing Dagna. After that, you must go to the crafting tables. There will be a slot available for your masterwork materials. It will be the top slot.
This is all entirely honest, ZeroMystic. No one is trying to trick you.

Thank you for a straight answer. Since I have not reached Skyhold yet, that explains why they never showed up on the crafting screens.Masterwork materials can only be added to masterwork slots, which are only available on some schematics (and they don't open up at all until you get to Skyhold IIRC).
This is exactly why I said things should not be showing up until you can actually make them.
Thanks again.

Excuse me, but I wasn't invading your topic by calling you a troll. In fact, I never said any such thing, if you read my posts. If you ask around, I don't call people trolls very often at all. I haven't called you one just because you're frustrated. ![]()
I was only offering some help. I've also mostly stayed out of the threads you've made in the Feedback section. I felt I didn't have anything to add, so I avoided those. Here, I thought I could give you some assistance.

Well, for me, I can put the special material on my craft shematics, but the "+10% stats" never worked. At all. Perhaps it is because the latest patch because it worked before. Now, I can craft over 40 times a thing with 40% luck to have +10% stats, and it never ever happen.
For the OP, yes, you must wait to enter SkyHold and "search the arcanist" war table mission (a 0 hour mission, instant win!). She will make it possible to put some runes in your weapons too.

For what it's worth, it worked for me yesterday. (Dragon tooth, IIRC.)

Did you use the save/load trick by any chance?
My +10% works so far, as of yesterday.

The "chance for masterwork" is rolled the moment you loot the item, I think. You can't save-scum until you get your masterwork, its success or failure is already decided when you pick it up.
What you can do is this:
Go to crafting station, save game.
Create a cheap item with a masterwork slot.
If the masterwork is a success, reload your savegame and create the item you really wanted, using the same masterwork ingredient.
If the masterwork is a failure, redo from start.
That way you get rid of failed masterwork items in the cheapest way until you find one that is a success.

This is what I'm thinking here.
Unfortunately I think you just had crap luck or didn't do it right.
