How do people even drink alcohol? None of it tastes nice, the only way to drink alcohol is to force myself to drink it.

Vodka, bourbon, whiskey, gin, brandy etc, it all tastes vile. Beer as well is totally disgusting, they all taste the same. \

I'm content drinking iced tea.

"I don't like the taste"

Nobody does! Nobody likes the taste of it! People don't have a shot of tequila and say,

"Oh! That's lovely! I think I'll have that instead of pudding next time!"

Nah, on a srs note though.

The only alcoholic drink I enjoy to drink because of the taste (as well as it being booze) is some good scotch honestly.

Not all beer tastes the same to me though, but I suppose it depends on a person's taste buds. But I don't think Shock Top beer (which is made with real orange) and Genius beer taste the same though.

But my favorite drink in the world is water tbh.

One goal is to get hammered. Drink a half bottle of vodka and you are set. And the more drunk you get the less you taste it.

But, I don´t drink either. I sometimes take few drinks with friends to celebrate something but I don´t get drunk. I did enough of that in my teens.

And here is the salty liquorice version. It is not vodka, but very close.

Is there a BSN flavored vodka?

Actually as I was typing that out I immediately wanted to take it back because I get the feeling a certain notorious post we all hate will be used to describe what it'd be like, but you have to commit when you're typing something with potential

Is it Tali's sweat flavored? Is that what you were going for?
I actually think it would probably taste like bubble gum and Sriracha.

Scotch is fine. I'm trying to like it more, but it turns out I don't like peet. Bourbon though... that tastes like happiness in a barrel.

I've been drinking some good beer lately. If you like shock top try last coast tangerine wheat. Plus if you mix it with a good stout or porter it tastes like a chocolate orange. There are some decent craft breweries around the south these days. And I occasionally make my own beer. Saves money, tastes delicious!

I am about to try my hand at a batch of beer myself shortly.  I have made wine for a number of years.  Kit wine has always turned out really good, my wine from scratch has been hit and miss.

Of course I did. You lobbed that one right over the plate.

I haven't tried doing wine, but from what I can tell, beer is easier. Start with a kit but pretty soon you can start modifying the kit by adding fruit or spices or toasting the grains. I haven't done one from scratch but it shouldn't be too hard. And it's fast. Like 4-6 weeks usually.

I usually only mix two beers, but that does sound enticing

How or why? The second question is a bit more difficult to answer, but I can go with the subjective one: firstly, it is a social lubricant. It relieves inhibitions and makes socializing (especially with new acquaintances) easier & less awkward. Secondly, it can enhance meals, (both via the palate and digestion) obviously fine wines do this, but other libations can as well. Cocktails are often paired with different appetizers/hors d'oeuvres and Guinness goes amazingly well with beef and desserts IMO. Thirdly we like to play a game called chase the buzz: a little standoff with oneself in which the goal is to maintain a light "buzz" while eating a small meal or doing another activity. You must remain lightly intoxicated, but still appear (mostly) sober, all while socializing and doing said activity. I, personally, manage this better sometimes than others...

My failed attempt at banana wine was probably close to tali sweat.

In my case I drink alcohol purely because it has some health benefits if had minimally and it tastes good if handled well.

I've never been drunk. Only gone as far as a buzz, and thats fine for me. Some beers are fantastic. Bourbon can be good. Mixed drinks make for a good time and conversation.

Guinness, like the blues in music is massively overrated.  Put up your dukes!

Some beers are skunky. Some beers are fantastic. Then there's Guinness-- the Irish Queen of Stouts
