Best Vodka imo is Crystal Head (I have yet to try some of the Soviet era stuff however). I confess to owning a jug of Smirnoff, though that's more for lady friends than my own privilege.It's the same with rum. I would never drink Bacardi (unless it was on tap or if I wasn't in the mood to be picky about alcohol), but I have a bottle for the sake of a woman who comes in and who I want to get liquored up. Meanwhile I stick to SailJey's, Bundaberg, and Appleton Estate. It's the same schpeel for everything else. Tequila: Don Julio for me, Jose Cuervo for a girl. Whisky: Maker's 46, Knob Creek, or Jameson for me, Jack Daniels for a girl. Unless she can prove she knows her alcohol, I'm not going to waste my fine stuff on her. 

 

I have yet to meet female who can handle Laphroig. In all fairness, I can barely handle it myself. That said, most girls I've met, Malibu is about as hard as they get, and they're drunk after one mixed cocktail. Disappointing.

 

I drink the fine, expensive or exotic alcohol, and I try to collect local spirits from any country I visit. You name it, I've probably had it. Same with my beer. If it's not a good import, a craft, or Michelob Ultra, I'll pass. Wine on the other hand... Wine is about as classy as it gets.

Nothing beats a good beer, unless the vodka is mixed with some OJ, red soda & ice cubes then I'll settle for beer.

I actually think it would probably taste like bubble gum and Sriracha.
Scotch is fine. I'm trying to like it more, but it turns out I don't like peet. Bourbon though... that tastes like happiness in a barrel.
I've been drinking some good beer lately. If you like shock top try last coast tangerine wheat. Plus if you mix it with a good stout or porter it tastes like a chocolate orange. There are some decent craft breweries around the south these days. And I occasionally make my own beer. Saves money, tastes delicious!

You sound like one of the girls I'm talking about. No offense. A screwdriver is good, but I just feel like such a... teenager when I drink it. 

 

I think anyone who purports to like something needs to like it straight and neat.

 

Vodka is one of the great mixers. Unless it's quality vodka, you mix it. Which is why so many girls drink it. Because most girls don't like the taste of alcohol.

Young people will drink anything if it means they'll lose memory of the last 8 hours and party to the fullest. Vodka is ew from my point of view but it's a neat little ingredient to spiff up a drink if anything.

Look, sometimes it just happens.  I don't make a habit of being a drunk chick, but I've maybe had more to drink than I realize or drank too quickly because I was in a painfully uncomfortable situation, and it turns out Surprise! I'm drunker than I thought!  And our menstrual cycles change our ability to metabolize alcohol at different times.  And also attract bears.

 

And then sometimes you just need to get wasted.
