Best Vodka imo is Crystal Head (I have yet to try some of the Soviet era stuff however). I confess to owning a jug of Smirnoff, though that's more for lady friends than my own privilege. It's the same with rum. I would never drink Bacardi (unless it was on tap or if I wasn't in the mood to be picky about alcohol), but I have a bottle for the sake of a woman who comes in and who I want to get liquored up. Meanwhile I stick to SailJey's, Bundaberg, and Appleton Estate. It's the same schpeel for everything else. Tequila: Don Julio for me, Jose Cuervo for a girl. Whisky: Maker's 46, Knob Creek, or Jameson for me, Jack Daniels for a girl. Unless she can prove she knows her alcohol, I'm not going to waste my fine stuff on her.
I have yet to meet female who can handle Laphroig. In all fairness, I can barely handle it myself. That said, most girls I've met, Malibu is about as hard as they get, and they're drunk after one mixed cocktail. Disappointing.
I drink the fine, expensive or exotic alcohol, and I try to collect local spirits from any country I visit. You name it, I've probably had it. Same with my beer. If it's not a good import, a craft, or Michelob Ultra, I'll pass. Wine on the other hand... Wine is about as classy as it gets.
