I was going through the elemental challenges and I gave a look at the poison damage. While I killed hundreds of enemies using other elements, so far I killed only 8 enemies with poison damage. So I was wondering, which are the abilities that allow me to use poison damage? Except for Tears of the Dead...

P.S. Sorry if this is a repetition of an old topic.

Those are pretty much it.

So have fun playing Rogue.

Not sure if Jar of Bees or the other potion count.

It's actually one of the hardest achievement because it's a DoT and most enemies are dead before the DoT ticks over... So if you are going for the prestige points, it's best to run routine by yourself and kill everything with poison cloud.

Poison cloud is the best I have found and it is a bit crappy because it has very little range.

The problem with poison weapons is the poison does relatively little damage and the poison amount has to be the amount that puts a kill over the top - so just killing people with a poisoned weapon isn't enough based on what I have seen.

Alchy with Poison Cloud and knockout bomb, takes a while tho, running solo on Routine gets me 30-40 poison kills.. Add poison weapons on top of that to add some more kills..

I had 100+ Tried to kill everything with the cloud, even the Boss. I also skipped Demons, not enough kills per run.

Just agro the whole dungeon then poison weapon/toxic cloud and upgrades and everything dies and explodes into more poison clouds.

Ok, so it means Alchemist or Hunter, right?

No problem playing Rogues. Actually I'm quite flexible with the characters and I usually pick according to the other players in the party.

Assassin also has access to poison damage, not as useful as the others, but it's there.

Alchemist, you have the option of stealth or flask of frost if things get sticky when you're solo running for poison kills.

This is what is supposed to happen soloing routine. My advice, wait until you're 15+ just so you won't have to deal with dying. My best strategy which was partially stated already by scene_cachet is to run ahead and agro the entire zone. You'll only need 3 moves from there, that being upgraded fire flask, upgraded poison cloud and stealth w/ no CD after a kill. Pop fire flask at the end of the zone and drop around 3 clouds and wipe out whatever is near you. After that just stand somewhere that forces the rest of the enemies to walk through the poison clouds, each death will make a new cloud appear. If you get archers or mages who won't walk into the clouds just stealth and wait for the CD to be up again. It involves a bit of downtime due to waiting on CDs but when you get 100+ per match its easy to finish. Consider using a cooldown amulet if you have it to make things go faster. I also have a poison cloud ring that I bring with me as well (I think it's duration) And like teltow said don't waste time with demons. The wraiths strafe out of the clouds and only take damage once initially rather than 2 ticks of damage.

I just ran to the end of each section and pulled all enemies. Then hid behind a piller or wall to make them come to me and cast poison cloud. With HoK rings on it was super easy and fast. This will net you 100+ kills per operation. I was averaging around 110 per Operation on routine. Set it to a private match and run 25 operations.

I love this strategy! Wish I had thought of it when I was doing this. I used the Hunter.

+ Toxic Cloud = 15% weapon damage/ Explosive Toxin = 50% weapon damage

And since daggers have better stats than bows, you're much faster with the Alchemist

Working on my poison kill achievement. Definitely using the Alchemist, Stealth, Poison Cloud, Poison Weapons, and Knockout Bomb.  You could use Fire Flask instead of Poison Weapons or Knockout Bomb, though I find the bomb to be extremely helpful when soloing the RTC, as he is susceptible to sleep. I have a hard time getting the bigger enemies (Venatori Axe wielders, Red Templar Giants) to die in a cloud, so I tend to bring them down to 1/2 with a few melee strikes with poison weapons and that does the trick a bit better to get the killing blow with poison.

Definitely solo'ing routine, running thru the entire level, pulling everything around a corner/pillar, then dropping PC, watching everything die in the cloud while stealthed. If your positioning is bad to get them all in 1 of the initial poison clouds, I suppose using Fire Flask to drop multiple clouds at the start is good, but if a few die, their dead bodies drop more clouds to widen the AOE. That's why I like poison weapons over the flask to ensure the big guys getting poisoned and damaged a bit before I stealth.

Quit if it's Demons, and restart. They are smart, and move out of the cloud and it takes almost twice as long to get your kills via poison.

That is the biggest hurdle that I run into is with demons.  Not enough kills.  The other 2 enemy types I can usually get about 100+ kills on Routine.   It is just very boring.  I think I am at around 1000 or so left to kill to complete that challenge.

Honestly if you get demons trying to do this just leave and try again.

After agro, hiding behind a pillar is key because then they come to you...

So having recently spent an extensive amount of time researching this recently, I'll say this much:

Toxic Cloud is your most reliable source of Poison kills, as other have said, but it is helpful to note that the Explosive Toxin passive synergizes well with any form of Poison damage. I am currently using Wicked Grace on my Alchemist and seem to have about three times the amount of Explosive Toxin clouds (which look like Toxic Cloud but are stronger) from getting kills off the Poison proc on Wicked Grace. There are a few daggers and bows that have this effect. Wicked Grace is just the one I have currently.

Why do I put so much emphasis on the Poison proc off weapons? Well, it effectively gives all other damaging abilities a chance to proc Explosive Toxin clouds. This is especially useful for those abilities capable of multiple hits like Elemental Mines or Leaping Shot, as each individual hit from those has it's own chance to proc Poison from the dagger.

I've actually done two Build Guides (Hunter and Alchemist) with capabilities as a sapper using Toxic Cloud, and both make farming Poison kills significantly less boring. I personally did not go out of my way to "farm" Poison kills, but in the amount of build testing I did between the Assassin, Alchemist, and Hunter, I ended up getting them regardless. That's honestly how I am with all the challenges, honestly. Farming is boring as hell for me lol.

Poison challenge is really the only challenge which I actually had to grind to work on. Most others came from just playing.
