Would doing this be enough or not?

Okay if all things go well I will hopefully get my new computer ( At least a new system that I could afford at the moment. :) ) and I would like to ask something concerning that.

Now I am currently doing the Orzammar questline and after that I will go towards the Landmeeting, so I am quit far into the game with my current character. But I will not be able top play DAO Ultimate edition every day the coming week due to a busy schedule. If it was only the landmeeting and then work towards the Archdemon then I would not mind so much if I have to start a new character on my new computer ... but there are still the DLC's as well. Now not all the DLC will have my current character in it I know that at the very least, but still.

So I would like to ask if the following would work? If I make a back up of the entire Override folder with 7z, and also of the entire savegame folder, and then put them back on my new computer again after having re-installed DAO-UE ... would I be able to continue with my current character? Or would I need to backup more, or will it be a simple case of bad luck and starting a new character?

Are you playing with mods? If not, only copying the savegame folder should be working. I also guess you could only copy the override folder for making your mods work again, although I'm not sure about it. Especially about the mods which are in dazip format.

Yeah I do use mods, but I totally forgot about the dazip mods? Thanks for reminding me Damdil. :)

So if I backup my override / dazip mods folders and my savegames I would in theory be able to continue with my current character?

You could also just backup your saves and re-download and install the mods from Nexus or wherever you got them.

Yes, as I seem to recall doing the computer switch. You just need your save game files. The folder will be the name of your character and will contain 4 items, one is a folder titled Saves, the second is a JPEG of your character, the third is an XML file, the fourth is a PNG File which the character's portrait.

Dude you can, just copy your entire package folder, Addins folder and Settings folder from My Documents->Bioware->Dragon Age

then paste - > overwrite then you're good to go
