I'm sitting on here on my laptop with nothing keeping me busy or entertained. I just feel uninterested in anything.

Anything related to class keeps me busy but outside it, I'm just bored.

Get some strategy games, watch some YT, movies, +400 episodes anime etc. and you won't be bored anymore.

Or just waste time on BSN!

I get that feeling when I wake up in the morning, check my notebook for updates on the BSN, and see no updates up in the top right.

Lame feeling.

Fuh, I remember sometimes waking up to close to thirty.

But this year the numbers have gone down a bit. I think it just has to do with the fact that the subjects I regularly talk about are not being discussed all that much right now so I instead dabble in other things.

I am in the process of creating an SQL database that stores data about exoplanets and performs some relevant calculations as part of a project for one of my graduate classes.

This is in fact the most exciting Spring break in a while.

Noted.

I'm using Oracle's SQL developer. Thank the heavens it recognizes scientific notation, or else this would be a nightmare in the making.

How large is the database? I have always been intrigued by scientific databases. I have only ever worked on business databases.

What is the nature of the data?

It is currently mostly a skeleton, but I am going to be spending the next few days filling it up with the necessary stuff. The data is largely numerical and I have some BIG numbers, some of which I'm using as input parameters to equations that produce derived attributes (read: even more data!).

Nothing particularly hard to do, just really time-consuming.

Will you have a script to process this data or are you going to rely on triggers?

The former, for now. I may or may not keep it this way.

Just to make that clear, you do have several potential avenues to kill some time (books, TV, games, friends), but nothing interests you and you're just bored of anything?

If yes, I'd look into burnout symptoms. Because I had a nasty burnout that I just overcame last year (it lasted for around one and a half) and the perpetually bored of everything was a constant for me during that time. Not something I'd recommend!

That is such a lovely game.

Sadly had to stop as I am stuck, but I will go back to it at some point.

I like it how so many have added titles like King, Kaiser, Senator, God-Emperor etc. to their usernames!

I've read all my books, TV no longer interests me, games no longer interest me, I lost interest in many things starting late last year. Class is the only thing that entertains me and even then I get bored.

Kinda. I can randomly develop this weird thing I call "obsession boredom." Basically, my mind can suddenly become so obsessed with something that everything else just seem boring. While under obsession boredom, everything I would normally enjoy just feels meh, and even the subject of obsession itself doesn't really bring me joy - it just makes me anxious and prone to weird compulsions more than anything else. The only cure is time; it eventually wears off.

Since last Wednesday, I've been suffering from a particularly stupid obsession boredom. Without going into too much detail for fear of being laughed at, I just feel like really, really wanting to know what happens next to a certain character in a certain television show. Which is totally stupid - it's not even among my favourite shows! Bloody Hell, Wednesday can't come soon enough.
