If you are expecting an ending change, be prepared for disappointment

Right.

Remasters don't make major story changes. They primarily just get a visual and performance upgrade for the newer hardware and maybe get some long standing bugs fixed. I think anyone hoping for a remaster that changes ME3's endings is setting themselves up for disappointment.

Add to that remasters generally have small budgets, it'd be very costly to even add a few minutes of cutscenes even more so to get VA's to say a few lines.

Would they be able to add any scenes and dialogue that was missing in the trilogy to a remaster?

All I'd care right now is for ME3's story DLCs to get into Wii U, but that ain't happening (not even asking for the multiplayer dlc packs).  BioWare even forgot ME3 had a Wii U version when they rolled out this forum. ;)

None of this remaster stuff really matters to me anymore.   Why do this and remind people of how much ME3 irked fans?

Why do this and remind people of how much ME3 irked fans?

I'll preface this by saying that ME3 irked me *heaps*, and I'm still disappointed by some of it. That said, every time someone lumps "the fans" together as a hive mind, it makes me basically skip the rest of whatever they're saying.

The game was critically and commercially successful - probably the highest selling game in the series, and certainly the one that got the most attention. Many fans liked it a lot. We have no way of knowing how many, and we shouldn't discount the views of people who didn't like it, but the idea that there's a consensus opinion is very silly.

Like everything in life, it's not the case that every single person who played the game felt the same way about it. There is no "fans", there's a group of millions of individuals with their own feelings. I wager that three years on, many of those people would be happy to replay the game even if it's not perfect.

Ahem.  Not trying to lump all the fans together especially because I love ME3 a lot as a game.  That being said, the negative reaction on ME3 simply cannot be ignored.  It is a part of ME3's history that even lead to its own DLC release.  Why drudge up this history by re-releasing the game and remind people of this and more importantly risk harming the publicity of the next ME game.

Instead of spending energy on this remaster which I frankly don't think will change a lot if ever it is accomplished, just use that extra energy and make the next ME game a much better game.  I think we all can agree with that.

A remaster can bring in more people to play the trilogy that never played any of the ME games before and if its released before the next game, those same folks may purchase that game if they enjoyed the remaster

I assume this has been covered in the previous 4 pages, but just in case it hasn't - they announced a God of War remaster a few days ago...

That's not a Bluepoint game though, its Santa Monica.

I cannot get much of anything to post on this site? but there is a reference in/on titanfall-Wikipedia about a sequel to titanfall  originally by that company?!? So NO, I don't think it's gonna be ME stuff.. so sad now...

That URL has "ort" rather than "org" :P

Bluepoint made the Xbox 360 port for Titanfall, they weren't the original developer - that was Respawn.

The new jobs were also contractors for one specific project, and the language seemed to indicate a remaster of a franchise on old consoles.

Because remasters have become huge? Selling millions and MILLIONs of new copies, often for full $60 price for essentially old games? They may not be dated but neither PS4 or Xbone is backward compatible so you can't just stick your old discs in new console and play. Many gamers sell their old consoles when they buy new ones. Majority of Mass Effect sales and audience come from consoles environment, not PC. Plus, improved versions of older titles are always attarctive for core fans

Well, honestly I hadn't considered consoles, so that's a point. Still, I'd argue that for Bioware now is about ME:Next, remasters can come later.

They generally would just outsource it to some other company anyway, that's what happened for ME3 WiiU.

I'll also echo the Uncharted Collection Remastered.  Sony needs to fill the vacuum that Uncharted 4 just created this holiday season.

As to Mass Effect Remastered, I'd predict 2016, in addition to (GOTY) Dragon Age Inquisition DLC/expansion.  That would tide players over until Next Mass Effect in Q1 2017.

I've always wanted to play the Uncharted series. It would be awesome if they released a remastered trilogy for the Xbox or PC. Probably not going to happen, unfortunately.

Get yourself a ps3 and play the games.

I don't expect Uncharted 4 to release till sometime next year. I do believe Naughty Dog will eventually do a remaster of the 3 games to play on the ps4

It's owned by Sony. Fortunately used PS3s are under a hundred bucks.

Also I think you can stream Uncharted 2 on a PS4 through PlayStation Now.

Its my exact problem with xbox360, I would really love to play through the Halo games but I can't justify buying an xbox just for that.

I bought ps3 back when blu-ray players cost nearly £200 so a £300 console really was a bargain. Plus I loved Uncharted and quite a few other games on it too(Oblivion, Dynasty Warriors Gundam, Battlefield:Bad Company).

In case it hasn't been posted, (insert 'grain of salt' cliché here) some EU (Romanian) online vg store is accepting pre-orders for the supposed PS4 remaster of the original Mass Effect trilogy, with an apparent release date of September 1st of this year.

Check it out if thou wish it - http://www.altex.ro/...ect-trilogy-ps4

How nice it would be if we could get a confirmation

Oh Bioware, why must you torment me so?  I should tape my fingers crossed

I would assume it has something to do with some obscure site trying to get traffic directed towards them. I could be wrong, but that's what I think.
