If people don't count Josephine as LI then I wouldn't count Solas as LI either because Solas don't have much romance specific content.
Solas is a companion while Josephine isn't.

Cullen also has very little romance content, he doesn't even has a real quest that initiate his romance, just a "Cullen, I want to talk about us" scene. He is more or less a speed date if you focus only on his romance parts, it's just cleverly paced to compensate for the lack of content.
As a human male, there isnt anyone I really want my character to pursue. The appeal in DAO and DA2 just ain't there. I mean, Josephine seems quite nice, but let's face it, she's no Morrigan...
Anyone else agree?
Of course you are not alone. As a straight woman (most options in the game - right?) I did not find anyone to my liking. I can admit the characters are nice and some romaces too, but they do nothing for me. None of them. It happens. Guess, romance-wise this is simply the game for another crowd. Try to enjoy story only and wait for another game - all I can say. I know I will.

I have a temporary solution for all of you people unhappy with romance options.
A list of dating sims.. that should cater to ALL tastes. ![]()

nah, people will still complain.

But but... there's a penguin. And an insect man!!
Ah, Hatoful Boyfriend. I remember you with your bizarre yet somehow amazingly awesome story of murderous doctors, soap opera shenanigans, out-of-nowhere rpgs and scooter-riding birds.
I still listen to Anghel's battle theme, its still fantastic. (https://www.youtube....h?v=xo8wCrwLejw)

I'd never heard of any of those games until I came across that article, to be honest. ![]()
All I can say is.. that's some weird ****.
It's not a dating sim as such, but when it comes to visual novels, I always recommend Saya No Uta, which is a touching love story between a young man with severe brain damage and a somewhat Lovecraftian cosmic horror.
Solas is a companion while Josephine isn't.
If that is the logic then I wouldn't count Cullen as LI either. Anyway Josephine has more romance specific content than Solas. I just don't see why it matters that Solas is companion.

That sounds rather... amazing. ![]()

I suppose I must confess that when I described it as "touching", I might not have been completely truthful. Utterly horrifiying (in a good way) would be more accurate. The rest of what I said is correct though. ![]()

Well.. it can still be "touching", right?
Even if it's horrific.

Urobuchi, I don't think one has to say anything more.

Had to google that. ![]()
He made Psycho Pass?
Heard that one is quite gritty.

Indeed. In fact I think it was where he started to pick up the nickname Urobutcher.

Yeah. I mean, it does actually do pretty well at making you sympathise with people and things you should not really be sympathising with. When everything you see is corrupted and monstrous, is it any wonder you fall for the one piece of beauty you can find....
Either way, my recommendation for it was completely sincere. It's a very, very good VN.
edit: Oh, and yeah, Psycho-Pass is very good (the first season at least). But in terms of ****ed-up-ness, not a patch on his earlier works....

Sometimes corrupt and monstrous can be beautiful. ![]()
Can't say I've ever played a VN... unless DA counts. Or Telltale's GoT.
I've heard many good stories about Psycho Pass, apparently it's very bloody?
I'm intrigued by this Queen Blade(?) that above poster, ThreeF told me about recently...

Psycho-Pass is more subtle, the way it portraits Japanese culture is ....on the point. I also think Urobuchi kind of decided to move on other things. Akane is very uncharacteristic heroine for him.

Have not seen the second season, but there are couple shocking scenes, especially in the first episode. It's more of psychological thriller thing though, not action horror.
Queen Blade exists to show boobies, nothing else.

It all depends on your perspective....

Dunno if I'd really call it "bloody". There are a few very graphic scenes, but overall, it tends not to be that gratuitous. It's very dark and psychological though. One of the best dystopian/cyberpunk stories I've come across. At least it was before S2....

Queen's Blade, if that is what you're thinking of, is an anime involving a large amount of plot....

Contrary to popular belief, I do actually like a bit more than just boobies... ![]()
So there's no good story or nothing, with Queen Blade?
I'm watching Ikki Tousen: Battle Vixens (yes, I know, the name says it all) and the story is somewhat interesting.. plus. Boobies. Undies.
I think I prefer the other one, though.. Dragon Destiny or whatever.
+1 to all of us for derailing the thread...
I wasn't that impressed with Queens Blade, even for a fanservice driven show. Stuff like Sekirei, Freezing and IS, and, dare I say it, even High School DxD manage to mix plot and "plot" much better IMO.

I haven't tried romancing Solas with male PC but I have heard that it's better that romancing him with female PC.

I actually feel just the opposite. I love Cullen's romance and compared to... say... Dorian's, has much more depth, especially if playing as a mage. Don't get me wrong, I love Dorian's romance, as well but just find Cullen's much more satisfying. Of course, we all have different taste, so... ![]()
