Perhaps. I didn't think Anders came off as intense or creepy, but then it could be because as a women I'm more used to random people hitting on me and perhaps some male players wouldn't be as used it it,

I didn't personally have that view either; I was completely oblivious to it until someone pointed it out online. I just know I have seen people gripe more about Anders hitting on them than anything else.

This has been pretty civil by the standard of these things.

The discussion can be as civil as it wants, the premise of the discussion is still stupid and idiotic.

I agree completely OP, lets hope the amount of dislike for these characters resonates some where in Bioware for the next titles in the franchise...

The last time BioWare tried a romance were the LI approached the protagonists, they were accused of Ninja romances.

Man i'd love to romance a sexy Female Ninja.. More exciting than Cass..

Taliss was pretty Ninja like add her..sadly she'd just be lesbian like Sera..

No, it isn't. It's a valid point. A lot of men did complain about some of the male romance options in the game.

What Bioware will probably do now is find a balance between the customer's wishes and their usual design for potencial romanceable characters.

This is a profitable industry, not an advertiser of LGBT rights against the "male oppressor". Nor it should be. There are official channels appropriate for pushing a political agenda. And video games are not one of them.

Fighting for more inclusivity in this industry is one thing. Discriminating others for voicing their dislike of something because a determined group doesn't agree with their personal taste is not.

If people called the praise for Sera, Iron Bull and other gay/bisexual characters idiotic, some people would not like it, either. Respect is fundamental, no matter where you stand.

To you it seems stupid and idiotic, just like there are some who cannot fathom why people would be angry because there was cheese added to their burger in the drive-through.  This is a product that people buy and some are not happy with whatever aspect of it and that's okay.

Most of the people who are "over it" like you are sitting on 14,000 posts on this forum so--sure you've talked out everything.  Newbies have not.  If you don't like these threads try to avoid them.

I personally am likewise disappointed with my options for romance and hair.  I'll write as many posts as I feel like about it and you can snap back at them or ignore.  That's how it works.

I don't want to make this an "us" versus "them" because I want it to be just an "us".  People should be happy with the product they buy, gay and straight.

I don't see any more dislike for these characters then for any other characters in the DA series.

Not a single BioWare character is universally liked or hated. I mean there are people out there that actually like Jacob.

Personally I hope that BioWare continues to provided characters that are interesting and that provoke an emotional response, even a character you hate is well written because you are having a emotional reaction to them.

And Tallis isn't gay, she seems to be bisexual as both male & female Hawkes get the opportunity to kiss her.

All the guys I know think if Cassandra had hair she's be fine so I'm thinking Vivi's lack of hair does her in on that count.  I think she's gorgeous (Vivi) and I like Cassandra, but I also know that every guy I've dated has said to me "For God's sake don't cut your hair" whereas the women I have been with sympathize with me wanting a "style" besides "long".

I don't like bald women at all, but if you put a wig on her, she would be to me more attractive than Cass. But if we would be talking Cass with longer her (as seen in the anime) she would top wig-wearing Vivienne :D Josephine for me wins out of those 3.

I see :D Well, I honestly can't think of any other BW romance that awesomely cheesy, maybe Aerie from BG2? I loved that one :)

I was getting more into the facial features argument. Mostly because the two that are always enshrined as "beautiful" are Morrigan and Leliana, and Vivienne definitely does not have the same features as those two.

Oh, not a straight guy but i think Vivienne is the most attractive female in the game (currently).  The first Morrigen and iconic (female) Hawke were gorgeous, too.

I think if Cassandra had hair she would suddenly seem "beautiful" all of a sudden to a lot of straight dudes who didn't like her before.

You think Josephine is prettier than Vivienne? I think Josephine's personality is cute but she has some super serial chompers.

I find all three really attractive, but in different ways.

Vivienne is beautiful, like her picture should be used to describe beautiful in the dictionary.

Cassandra is more practically beautiful, she is still attractive but you can tell that her work has impacted her features, where as Vivienne is more flawless, like a Queen.

Josie has softer features and is like a darker skinned version of a Jane Austen character.
