People are bunny-hopping to get around rubberbanding issues.

The demon commander is blind an relies on sound to track players - if you use the slow walk while attacking he will not be able to use his dive attack against you

If you are a keeper make sure you barrier the group well in advance of any enemy contact so that the barrier will be worn off as you charge the brace of archers.

Ignore the assassins from all enemy classes and save them for last, they aren't much of a threat.
Charge the Templar commander when he goes into his whirlwind attack because he will be easy to hit once he stops.

Actually I like to do this with PUGs. Getting a barrier on each and every one is doable when they least anticipate it. Often it's almost as if they try to avoid getting a barrier.
Usually though my barrier will last for their alpha strikes after which I have caught up with them and have another barrier ready to fire.

If on boss wave you suddenly see a Katari gaining loads of guard really fast then don't engage the boss - The Katari is going to tank it while you kill the adds.

What you described is a Katari using to the Death, which is really close to being legitimate device -- especially the part about killing the adds. That should be a priority for real advice.
This thread is for tongue-in-cheek 'good' advice, which typically is bad but funny advice.

Oh, I didn't know what the thread was really about. Guess I should have read the first post.
When I'm doing the boss with To the Death I really appreciate other peepsters to come whack the boss with me this way I'm enjoying all the benefits of the skill before the damage bonus grows too big.

Usually the boss is dead way before then, unless your gear & build is somehow absolutely terrible, or the boss breaks TTD by gaining distance or phase transition (RTC).,

This morning when I played, before I was aware of the change the scene was the templar running across the dewy field to plan the banner, everyone else waiting on the broad porch for the final wave and the templar starts spamming "over here." Nobody knew what was going on. I thought in annoyance: why doesn't she just plant the damn banner. I hate it when other people dictate how to play the game. BW can be that dictator if it wants. It has the power.

Dead way before I activate the skill? Wouldn't that depend on when I activate it? Anyways, my build is a bit skewed as it's my vanilla Katari without any promos and the first few levels I just put points everywhere before reading any guides, then again I'm only lv14 and pretty much have just put points in mandatories before TTD so it can't be too wrong.
Skill and gear are more to blame here as I'm just an inexperienced newbie.
Anyways, the thing here is that one should listen to the Katari or make use of the damage increase debuff on the boss rather than just leaving the Katari to deal with the boss who's doing truckload of damage on each hit.
