I've just switched my Valkyrie to using the Hurricane. Her powers and Tech Armour means she has to get and can then survive in the range where the Hurricane shines. Then the double debuff from Warp and Annihilation Field means enemies just melt. Biotic Explosions are just icing and some handy crowd control. Not a veteran player by any means , but I sure figured out what this girl was about in one of the spawn areas where there is tight cover in firebase rio. I tried it against Cerberus and was holding off a phantom, a pair of dragoons, an engineer, atlas , the works along with troopers without having to tactically retreat or die. It odd to say be she is like a sniper, almost invulnerable in her element , but a fish out of water in forced out of good cover at range. She definitely has issues in the open. Same thing with the reapers with a pair of scions and banshees along with their good buddies. I like her with a nice heavy pistol. It would be fun to see her work with a squad having a dedicated sniper covering her flanks on an open map running to cover . A quarian male infiltrator sniping at range or tac scanning close by would be ideal. He would be good at taking out those slow moving heavies barring her path too.
Alright community, what are your three favorite characters?!

Asari Valkyrie sentinel
Asari Huntress infiltrator
Paladin
This is what I meant when I said my list could go on so much longer - I didn't mention any of these three.
I love the Sentinel but I do find my loyalties split between her and the Fury - I try to play them differently but it rarely works out that way. As for the Huntress, well, I took your advice and played a couple of games with her and a Claymore. She certainly knows what she's doing with a big boomstick. Dirty, dirty girl. Not dirty like the cheap TGI or Sexbot, sleazy dirty. Like she's letting off steam remembering that century when she had to pay the bills by becoming better acquainted with a pole. Educational dirty. Good dirty. It made me kinda contemplate just putting the Claymore on every character, which I had previously thought was against all my natural inclinations.
The Paladin is the kit that usually makes me laugh when I see my score at the end if I haven't played him in a while. I did what?!? Some kits need a quick refresher, but not him. He's my favourite N7 by a mile - he has so many tricks at his disposal.
Saboturian is the best one. His fawning over the female quarian engineer and infiltrator via adopting their powers is adorable and a viewpoint I can respect.
Thank you for confirming my point. He's a wannabe, a bit of a pale imitation fanboy. I don't hate him - I've done 400 waves with him, but objectively he's got to be the weakest Turian overall. TheTechnoTurian's assessment that he's better than the TGI is a reflection of a skill level which rightly regards Cloak and StimPacks in a single package to be bordering on rude. Also, Homing Grenades? Ain't nobody got time for Homing Grenades!

She works very nicely at long range too. I like the Crusader on her, though a sniper rifle would be equally good if I were so inclined. Dark Channel staggers, so assists with lining up shots.
Haven't unlocked the Valkyrie yet; not sure she'd suit me, unless there's a viable medium-range build.

So much being said about the N7 Slayer.
(negative comments are being ingnored) Yes, he's a beast and he has become my favourite character even though I didn't exactly like him in the beginning (that lasted for 5 games or so
)
I seem to have the most trouble with ravagers.... the swarmers and the poison give me mutually assured destruction.
You can light melee Ravagers as well, but be sure that there's no sync-kill unit around. Just charge, light melee, repeat. PD is much more efficient, but you can repeat this cycle as well if you like to melee with the Slayer. Without some stagger, you can do this with triple Pyros and not die. Of course, being on host is the best way to enjoy the OP feeling of playing a Slayer.
So, that's my number 1, next comes the N7 Fury and currently my no.3 is the Drell Assassin. ![]()

As far as mid range goes, it strongly depends on who you have on the team..... A solid primer/detonator would help quite a bit... On the other hand, the solution to lack in medium range is to make it close range all the time with the speed boost and sprint... Valkyrie, unlike most Asari has enough passive and active protection to soak up a good amount of small arms fire and even some heavy heavy attacks... Valkyrie warp can have a ridiculously fast cooldown of possibly under 2 seconds (with acolyte [or with a disciple roughly 2 seconds]) WITH tech armor active! That also means that without tech armor, cooldowns are so fast that the time it takes to aim is longer than the cooldown...

Lately I have been working on bronze solo-ing to help me coordinate myself on my slayer for executing pyros and dragoons (fighting both is almost the same). With larger numbers of enemies, slayer takes a sizeable amount of skill, but with beautiful rewards. So far, my best chain was executing 4 phantoms and a dragoon on gold.... I felt like a god after that.. (I say execute because the slayer essentially sync-kills almost all cerberus)
Fury
Slayer
Cabal
Do you see a pattern here?
I LOVE vanguards... They were what i started with, they are how I
do single player hardcore, and they have the most gain from skill in my opinion... Eventually I might have fury and cabal in my list, but RNG likes slayers WAAAAY better than cabal or fury and while I managed to get a full set on slayer, I have YET to get a fury OR cabal!
EDIT: I take it you worship your geth scanner and don't know what a wall, ladder OR door is...

The thing about the Claymore was when going up against a couple of Possessed Psions - I don't think I've ever seen them off so easily. But as the Crusader is my most-used gun in the game I should really give it a spin on her.
As for the Valkyrie, the short answer is no. There might be a 'maybe' but you have to understand how valuable the shield-recharge evolution is when you're playing the Geth or Cerberus, so you really want to be up close and personal. If it's all a bit much you can always hide in an appropriate corner and detonate your close-quarter powers - the enemies will never get near you unless you fall asleep. ![]()

I don't use Geth Scanner on the Cabal, because I want more Nightshade Blades. But Geth Scanner is so good to be able to see where you Poison Strike. ![]()

Shadow's main quality is stealth... Plus, at longer distances (that a shadow can do), phasing behind an enemy 7/10 times unknowingly puts you in a hornets nest, often with a lot of pyros, abominations, ravagers, or a damn turret.... AND when you phase that far, it takes a second to get bearings straight, often while getting torched, blown up, poisoned, or mowed down.

Exactly. And enemies often melee you on arrival and stagger you out of Shadow Strike. That's why I use a sniper Shadow with a Valiant. Much safer to play and also much more efficient at killing baddies. I do Shadow Strike once in a while to reposition or to steal shields ![]()

I also don't like that I have to sacrifice a lot of execution ability to get shield drain.... and its nowhere near as reliable as charge's.

Yep, I need to learn to play other characters. I can play anyone on Silver, a handful characters on Gold, and pretty much only these 2 on Plat. I can't even play powerful characters like GI, TGI, Shadow, Asari Justicar, Krogan Warlord, N7 Destroyer etc. on platinum. So much to learn yet!
P. S. I also enjoy Vorcha Sentinel very much.
