Re: Two-handed weapons

Highest Base damage weapon is best, which usually means mauls, but Axe of the Dragon Hunter (unique) is the best Great Axe, not Slayer. Look it up if you're not familiar, but so much crit chance and bonus damage per enemy within 8 meters.

Which weapon chart/spreadsheet are you using Drasca?

I have Slayer greataxe as 239 AoE + Rune slot

Axe of the Dragon Hunter 227 AoE + Rune slot, but

oh wow, 5% extra damage per foe <8m, I hadn't noticed that (not that I've picked one up and salvaged it (phew))

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for that one.

I can't hit sheet with mauls.  I prefer swords then axes but some of the mauls have very good attributes.

Just don't get mad and try to loot a treasure room without backup, as a brand new player--at least not on harder difficulties. You might end up dying and release a bunch of mobs into the fold and you won't make friends that way.

I must admit, if the party is going past a door I can open,

and there are no more than a weak foe or two in sight,

then I'm popping open that door without any 'come here' formalities.

99/100 I can clear the guardian(s) myself.

If the rest of the party are uncomfortable running ahead, they should give me a hand.

That said, if the rest of the party looks to be getting into trouble, I won't pop the chest and potentially add a guardian to the mix.

If we go past a treasure room of the wrong door type for me,

I'll usually walk up to the door which triggers a banter line.

If no-one is interested I won't call them, I'll just rejoin then and not fret about it.

This one is big, if my party is barely keeping it together and I am not the right class or high enough level to carry I will just leave the chest and go for a wave 5 finish rather than wipe because of a guardian.

Follow the group then  :D

Or if they split, follow two, not one.

My experience with the multiplayer was the exact opposite. I was a big fan of the first two games, and when I got the third I fired up MP to see what it was like. Even with all its issues, I'm having a killer time.

I think I'm all of 10 minutes into the single player campaign.

As much as I liked slamming my maul [The Whale] down upon enemies, there is no doubt that the Refined Hossberg Twainer does a heck of a lot more "insta"-damage. I can wade in with that greataxe once other ranged party members cut loose and takeout most bosses much easier. Charging Bull + Pommel Strike + Mighty Blow and they're quickly whittled down to nothing. I use Block & Slash in the final slot to issue recoil damage.
