So I've been saving up the gold lately as I've gotten all the armour types.  I don't have near the stash that some of you misers do (Only about 35,000 or so.)

Should i spend it in the vain hope of getting a Caliban, Sulevan (sp?) or a Moon Axe, and then spend 20 minutes melting down dirks?

Or should I keep hoarding it waiting for another dlc of some sort to come along in which we need to spend our cash?

Hoard it.  Then it still has possibility . . . .

Buy one box. It might be Caliban. Just think of the following money grind with Caliban and how easy it compared to what it is now.

I was thinking of hoarding too... but am afraid of the disappointment factor.  If another DLC came along with new gear, and I spent 120k and got 3 griffon bows from it.. that would make me rage quit the game for good.

hoard it all and buy a few packs on occasion.  That way you can have a chance here and there to get lucky while saving for any DLC

I try to save but I never can; I always think what if I get the item I want in the first chest? Then I play DAMP all morning and spend my money and get nothing then don't want to play again all weekend.

Got moon axe twice and already have Caliban. RNG likes me Beer.

Spend it, got my Caliban after spending all my saved up cash in one go, last chest of the evening, pure luck.

Lol@saving up - I think the most I ever saved was about 3000 gold. OP blow it all on medium chests!

I have over 215,000 gold saved up. I... may have a problem.

In my defense, I hate spending gold because buying chests takes time, cleaning out my inventory takes time, and I would rather play the game (even with substandard gear) than waste time on chest/inventory busywork.

You should spend it as soon as you get it....

Lot's of small dissapointments over time is much better than huge mega dissapointment in one hit.

Let's face it, you'll probably only get dupes of what you already have anyway.

Every time I have more than 1250g I buy a chest. Otherwise the gold will burn holes in my armour!

If you have the items you need to do well on the difficulty level you like to play at, I would save money for new items in case they add new items into store chests.

It is possible that the new items will have to be looted in dungeons or crafted with crafting materials, in which case you wouldn't be punished for spending all of your gold right now. I'm hoping bioware chooses to do it one of these ways as opposed to adding new items into store chests, but who knows.

I have spent 500k gold on large chests, ~20k gold on healing potion chests, and saved up almost 1,100k. Yes, I hate current large chests and think I won't get anything useful so much that I buy healing potion chests.

It's the other way around for me :)

I can play along in peace not thinking about the ******* rng and only get disappointed once every week. In fact I now save up 120k first (which takes longer than a week) and then complain loudly about not even getting anything valuable out of 100 chests to my monitor.

ps: I get my small disappointments from connection issues, ctds, matchmaking ...

I've been having some 'fun' spending my salvage on crafting every armour.

In the belief (hope) that I've taken 150 drop options out of the rare/uniques pool.

Just 15 armour sets to go...

Then when (if) dlc drops, I can savour the process of acquiring it,

not splurge out in one go.

That's the plan  :)

I did pretty much the same thing regarding the armor. I figure when a new DLC drops it'll probably contain new material and w/ the gold I already have, and a smaller pool of items, I'll just go nuts with chests.

Spending the 100k I've saved would take me maybe 1 hour with all the salvaging? I can't be bothered about that. I nibble 10k off from time to time and that's it.

I generally spend about once a week.  I like to manage and destroy my inventory once a week as well.  Saves me time and the hassle of going into inventory more than once. Granted I don't play as much as a used to.  I do the weekend challenge and a few matches during the week.

Bioware dudes were pretty strongly hinting on the last Twitch that would be some big announcement on March 27. So probably a DLC unless they're just messing with us.

Luck is often only for the birds!

I finally began playing multiplayer matches this weekend, and I've had the game since release day. I wanted to unlock the other characters as quickly as possible so I dropped some platinum into the game (about $100), no biggie. I received unique weapons like Knightslayer [dagger], Tenasarin [bow], and the staves : Fade-Knocker / Stormbreak / Staff of the Void and a mixed lot of other rare weapons.

I've got ten of the twelve characters, although I only did matches with the Katari [lvl 16], the Hunter [lvl 11], the Archer [lvl 10] and the Keeper [lvl 13]. I don't really need to add more money and will probably just let credits build up from now on until I unlock the final two characters.

I'm also going to spend the next event leveling up my Arcane Warrior, Legionnaire, and Alchemist.
