First of all to all the trolls who are probably going to post their usual crap, don't even try it because there is nothing to say about this one. You see everything about how to recruit Iron Bull into your party all say the same thing which is:

As soon as you can access the Storm Coast area, Iron Bull is down on the beach right near the starting point on that map, and all you have to do is go down to the beach and talk to him. Which is a complete crock!

If it were that simple, then where the hell is he? I have scoured the enitre beach multiple times, and even finished everything there is to do in the storm coast up to that point, so I don't care what anyone or the information says there is more too being able to recruit him than what the information says to do.

What's next, people going to say just because I can't find him doesn't mean he's not there, or other people had no problems getting him. I didn't say no one found him, or that he doesn't exist nor did I say anyone else had problems, I said he isn't down at the beach from the starting area as soon as you can access the Storm Coast like the recruting information says he is...THERE IS MISSING INFORMATION ON HOW TO RECRUIT HIM IS WHAT I AM SAYING.

This lead me to one of two conclusions:

1. The game is bugged (which I highly doubt)

2. There is at least one prerequisite that no one thinks was important enough to include in the information about how to recruit Iron Bull (Which is what I bet the real problem is)

Either way, there is clearly way more too it than just accessing the Storm Coast, and going down to the beach and talking to him so how about someone become intelligent enough to provide ALL THE INFORMATION because the recruiting information is 100% incorrect because it's missing a crucial piece of need to know information clearly no one thinks is important enough to include.

I believe you have to go face the Chantry/Templars at Val Royeaux, return to Haven to speak with your advisors, and then Krem will wait for you outside the chantry to tell you about IB.

Yes, you need to speak to Krem "The Messenger" as the game calls him at that point. He should be outside the Chantry after you return from trying to talk to the Chantry sisters in VR. Then Iron Bull will be on the Storm Coast, as the quest marker will show you.

So I was right, there is a prerequisite that no one bothered to provide the information in the recruitment information....? Really! Are players who bought this game, somehow supposed to figure this out too?

There is absolutely no way in hell anyone who played, the game in the order I did, that they would ever be able to get Iron bull as an actual usable character. In fact a player would never know he is even in the game in the Storm Coast.

People better smarten up and start realizing that detailed instructions for things like this in games are supposed to be provided by the developers, instead of people causing problems with people on forums by saying figure it out.

How long is it going to take people to understand that when you pay for a game, then all parts of it that you're paying for are supposed to be explained on how to access them by the developer with detailed in game instructions.

None of this figure it out and games being treated as school work crap.

I bet the missing information will be provided now.

You and players like you are the reason this game has been dumbed down. I seriously can't believe anyone who is old enough (with regards to the game rating) to play this game could genuinely have the problems you describe. I have played the game through five complete playthroughs with no issues at all with the instructions! Not only is it easy to follow the instructions given and to use common sense even a five year old coukd solve your so called problems. On top of which you are so abusive in every post from the outset and towards those who try to help you, you are going to get to the point where no one here will try to help you at all.  The problem is not wuth the game it is with you, it is obvious this is not the type of game you can cope with so why not return it, get your money back and buy a game that does hold your hand through every minute detail!

@ZeroMystic: I've tried and tried, but when I do, I get attacked, or get another attack on the game in response. You know an "Oh, okay, I must have missed that somehow." Would win a lot more friends around here.

At the rate you are going, you're going to have people asking the mods to ban you. No I haven't but the thought has crossed my mind.

We get it, you don't understand the game and have no ability to read the journal or to reason based on visual cues (see icon, click it w/o being told to do so) Believe me I get it, my nephew is the same, he's diagnosed with several problems but, I get it. I imagine it's the same with you.

Wash dishes doesn't compute for you, someone has to tell you "Wash the spoon, rinse the spoon, put the spoon in the drainer. Pick up the glass, wash the glass, rinse the glass, put the glass in the drainer." and so on for each item to be washed. Yes I have to do that with my nephew.

I'd never let him play DAI alone, with me or my partner there to walk him through what to do sure, but alone he'd be a confused, lost mess and just get mad at the computer. Perhaps you need to ask someone that lives with or near you to mentor you in the game?

It shouldn't be possible to skip the prompt. Krem will confront you as soon as you leave the Chantry after returning from Val Royeaux (he's standing right in front of the doors, and flags you down every time you get near).

I doubt many (if any) players would actually miss Bull. Your problem is that you're trying to read ahead instead of just playing the game (which is fine, but you need to be aware that you'll often be lacking sufficient context for the things that you're reading).

One more post, unless I get an explanation for the reason that makes sense. I keep thinking there has to be a medical or psychological reason here.

Why don't you just go buy the Prima Game guide since you seem to need the entire game spelled out for you?

2. There is at least one prerequisite that no one thinks was important enough to include in the information about how to recruit Iron Bull (Which is what I bet the real problem is)

Did it ever occur to you that we aren't meant to be given detailed instructions for every single little thing in the game? Did it ever occur to you that if we were given detailed instructions on how to do every little thing in the game that it would detract from the enjoyment of discovery and using our brains to try to figure things out? Did it ever occur to you that the point in not having detailed instructions for every little thing in the game is meant to have you actually try to figure things out?

What joy do you get from knowing what to do, how t do it, and when to do it before you ever come across the situation? Giving these little detailed instructions that you seem to be hell-bent on getting might completely destroy immersion in the game and ruin it for the vast majority of players. They make things like the Prima Game Guides for people just like you who are unable to enjoy a game on their own and need to know every single detail down to the most minuscule clicks of the mouse on highlighted object before even installing the game. Perhaps you  should just stick to games that require no amounts of higher thinking.

By the way, the prerequisite for getting Iron Bull is to play the game and follow the quest lines. I would also warn you that there are many other instances in the game where you cant do something until you've done something else. This is actually a pattern intended by the writers and developers to create what many like to think of as a timeline or sequence of events.

What recruitment information? Where exactly did you see that you are supposed to be able to get Iron Bull "as soon as you can access the Storm Coast"???

I'm a bit confused here, you seem like a very observant individual to find all of these small problems yet you seemed to have completely overlook the new NPC standing outside the chantry doors upon your return from Val Royeux, you know the one that also greets you and specifically makes it obvious they wish to speak with you. A simple chat to this person activates the recruitment event, otherwise how would you (as your character) go to the Storm Coast to hopefully recruit this mercenary captain you don't know is there.

Off topic: My brain is seriously not working today, seven times I wrote Iron Coast instead of Storm Coast, where the hell am I even getting Iron Coast from?

I started reading and I was like "whoaw whoaw whoaw". First off if you open STORM COAST for the first time OF COURSE IRON BULL WON'T BE THERE. In order to get the get IRON BULL MISSION you need to complete the mother Gizzelle mission in the Hinderlands, go to Val Riyoux and do what you need to do there, go back to Haven (or get Sera and Vivianne if you want then go to Haven), then talk to Krem who is standing near the Chantry Door and tell her that you are interested in getting Iron Bull who will tell you to meet him at the STORM COAST. Usually when you open up zones every bloody mission will not be automatically up. It's like in HINDERLANDS Blackwall's "memoirs of the grey" scrolls cannot be grabbed, Vivianne's "favors for the first enchanter" scroll cannot be grabbed, you cannot enter Redcliffe to side with the mages immediately, every shard on the map isn't visible yet, I can keep going is just not ready yet because I haven't done what I need to do to get the mission. The point of this game is you may need to flip flop between Haven/Skyhold and whatever zone your working on to grab/do missions. Don't expect everything to be unlocked just by going there for the first time. Some missions in the zones of the game require you to go from Haven/Skyhold back to the zone Don't expect to get or complete every mission when you first get to every zone.

Don't fly off the handle so easily when you don't do research first or just ask politely if you don't know something. Just saying "RAH RAH RAH THIS GAME IS GLITCHY! RAH RAH RAH" is uncool.
