Was playing original ME yesterday.  Admiral Mikhailovich knows who the Master Race is.

 

I'm glad I'm not the only person who thought this scene odd.

 

Unless the Normandy crew stuffed Tali into her equipment locker before Mikhailovich stepped on board.

Nope, she was standing right behind Shep as he/she renegade-swag monolouged about how much of a triumph of human engineering the SR1 is, along with a no doubt scowling Garrus standing offscreen.

I didn't think it odd at all. Mikhailovich just knows who's the best. It's why he always gets saved instead of the Council (among other reasons).

I've never not saved the Council. Like them or hate them, the series just isn't the same without "AH YES, REAPERS."

This one. Those fuckers kicked us off for a war that pretty much only affected us (not that we wanted to be friends with those losers anyway). You're right, the series isn't the same, it's way better.

Meanwhile, Salarians almost accidentally all sapient life in the galaxy twice in a row with the rachni and krogan (and are planning to uplift yahg, which totally isn't yet another terrible idea). Asari withhold a Prothean beacon and as a result billions die to a Reaper war that could have easily been prevented while the cuttlefish were still in dark space. And the Turians....well they elected Sparatus.

You have to be a black hole of pretentiousness and stupid to make Udina look the most rational person in the room. 2 of the 3 alternate councilors are way better anyway (asari ones are both pretty sensible and okay).

That said, I'm pretty mad that I couldn't get all quarian council. The Reaper and geth menace would have easily been eliminated before the 2nd game under Xen and Gerrel's illustrious leadership, and the rest of the trilogy could be devoted to travelling around the galaxy in the Quib-Quib SR2, searching for the knowlege of ancient cultures' soup recipes

I save them as a matter of being a Paragon, for the most part. My Shepard is pro-alien but by the end of 3 is really tired of the infighting and the Council's shiftlessness. I would've liked a choice to decide at the end of ME3 which races get on the Council. All the races would be an option, but it'd otherwise be a checklist.

 

A Human/Quarian/Krogan/Batarian/Vorcha/Yahg Council would certainly be something. Oh, what's this, Asari, Salarians and Turians? You want to treat the non-Citadel races as inferior? Okay then. Humans just raised all of them to Council status. And if anyone thinks the Quarians don't fit in that group, I'm thinking of what they'd be like if post-Destroy, they made a new series of undyingly loyal Geth to function as their dogs of war.
