ME2 was without a doubt the most fun one to play. Missions were well designed (especially the suicide mission) and I loved the different defense multipliers they used for different weapon classes, and the lack of the goddamn weight/PRS system so my soldier and infiltrator could be a literal one (wo)man army with 4 goddamn guns. I thought half the squad was pretty boring, though tbh.
ME3 is still fun to play through IMO but yeah, some moments in the narrative are just cringeworthy, and after you finish Rannoch there's really nothing fun left except maybe Chronos. Citadel, Omega and Leviathan all really help it out, but those are DLCs, obviously. Earth is just tedious and the definition of ending with a whimper rather than a bang.
ME1 is a fun game with a good narrative and great squadmate characters, but the combat ranges from tedious to tedious. Early game, everything is an immunity spamming bullet sponge and you've shitty weapons that make an Avenger Volus Merc on Plat look godlike in damage output. Late game, you become the immunity spamming bullet sponge and can't be killed even if you choose to elbow Geth Primes and Collossi to death.

Frankly I would rather play the more over the top than Michael Bay COD SPers than replay ME3 SP
yes, Black Ops 2 literally had a less Michael Bay singleplayer than vanilla ME3 does.

I always send him back into battle, because asking a man like that to hide like a coward is an insult to his honor. He survives anyway even if you let him fight, provided you shitstomp the colossus within a couple of minutes, which everyone here should be able to do because lolSP. He provides some great one liners if you do so as well.
But yeah, if you're bad you should probably just take the paragon option so he doesn't die. The fact that you can't recruit him and leave Jacob or someother non-squadmate to die in his place is just a travesty.
Unless you're like me and you like to kill the Colossus at the exact point where the song ends, which means waiting around five minutes or so to wait for it to cycle to the right spot.
I have strict rules for how I run certain missions for maximum cinematic overdrive. That's one of them. I don't spend my skill points right away in SP, spending them as I go along so that Shepard is "waking" his powers, but I only do so slowly until Haestrom. In that mission, I spend a bunch of them during the mission (maxing Charge along the way) as Shepard gets increasingly pissed at the Geth.

they're basically reskins of the same game that you still pay $60 for. The newest one was a bad Titanfall ripoff
Don't ever buy them. Enough people do that they're easy to borrow if you desire. There are better FPS's out there IMO.

Nope, I tell Reegar to continue raining hate and discontent, and I burn through the toasters and smash the oversized desk lamp as quickly as possible. It's especially lulzy if you've the Cain by that point in the game. I do love the soundtrack for all the ME2 quarian/geth missions more than any other OST in the ME series, but I don't love it more than hearing quarian Jayne Cobb shouting badass one liners at synthetic bastards as he gives them a taste of irony with a rocket launcher named Vera.
Every Shepard I make already loathes geth with an unbridled passion. I don't roleplay them to that extent of not intentionally not building them, though. Dead toasters are dead toasters whether I riddled them with Revenant slugs, shot them in the face with a Widow, or fried them with area overloads and drones.

I don't play many games like I played ME2. I don't bother playing like that with ME1 or DAO, but ME2 is the perfect blend between action and cinematics. Really, that was the problem with ME3; it didn't have enough action. People were afraid of it being another dudebro action game that somehow aped CoD but it turned out to be more like MGS2 with all the talk-talk-talking.
One of Citadel's great triumphs was that it had fighting in it. Actual fighting.

I believe he did. Although a bunch of former writers who were really good are being brought back, so maybe Bioware is keeping an eye on him to make sure he doesn't mess up the next one.

The general narrative of pre-Extended Cut ME3: "TALK ABOUT LIARA MOAR!"
I have no problem with Liara, but her being thrust into the best friend role in ME3 regardless is just odd, considering that they showed with Citadel DLC that they can vary those sorts of things based on factors like usage frequency, romance status etc (you get different squadmate dialouge and either your LI or (if not applicable) your most used sqadmate rescues you at the car dealership).
I'd have liked that to be reflected similarly in the main game. Garrus, Kaidan/Ashley, Tali etc are the ones coming up to your cabin to talk to you or consoling you after missions if you've used them most or they're your LI. Obviously, it would be OOC for Javik or EDI to serve as an empathetic shoulder, and James is a sort of Protoge so it doesn't really fit for him either, but I think it would work just as well with the other 4 since they've also been around since the beggining.
But that would have required an hour or so of extra dialouge recording and animation, so nevermind.

You ever wonder how/when Liara got all her shadow broker stuff on the Normandy? The ship was impounded when Shep was on earth right? And they didn't know the Reapers were coming. Shep was still on trial. They had to throw all that out the window when the Reapers came. Unless they put the shadow broker stuff on the ship for no reason.

handwaved. It is explained in her dialouge how she got it off the ship from ME2, but not how it gets on the Normandy. I guess some agents moved it all onboard off camera during the first visit to the Citadel to talk to the Council, right before you go and get Garrus.

Being able to pick and choose who Shepard's real friends are would've added some depth to the interaction. This problem also affects Garrus. For those who don't like him, you get shoehorned into being his buddy (unless you're romancing him). Maybe someone doesn't want to deal with Liara or Garrus. Maybe they're closer to Kaidan and Tali. Then those two take up prominence in the friend/LI positions, but there's unique dialogue relating to each combination of squadmate and relationship status. Two friends will sound different from two normal squadmates, as will a friend and an LI from two friends.

Random people from the SP forums. I can't name names because I don't remember any of them but some people legit don't like Garrus. If they don't want to, I don't mind. I don't think any character should be written like everyone loves them all the time.
