I liked all the Mass Effect squadmates. Although I wish EDI had just stayed as the ship AI.

I dislike both Morinth and Samara, and I don't really care for Miranda either, though she's tolerable if you buy her some clothes. ME3 EDI simply annoys me because of that stupid Picard-Data relationship its arc tries to force on me, though it can be avoided mostly, and I was fine with it in ME2.

That's pretty much it for dislike, though there are quite a few "meh" characters, mostly from ME2 (lolJacob).

I once tried to make a Reaper mod for Skyrim. I got the texture etc. and put it outside Whiterun. Was going to add sounds too, but something went... wrong. The Reaper was quiet, but everything else made Reaper horn noises and was spouting Sovereign quotes.

I have NO idea what I did.

Urgh. Stupid guide to making mods.

I was glad I had it backed up.

It gave me nightmares.

On the other hand, the other day I installed a mod on GTA IV which made Niko a Quarian. That was fun. It went well with my Mass Effect assault rifles mod. I was a Quarian who started shooting SWAT vans with a rocket launcher. :)

That armor DLC was like "Yeah, Miranda's default outfit sucks quads, so here's a good one!" Probably the best DLC armor in the series, whereas Vega's "Fat suit with sunglasses" armor is the worst.

All of the human characters were poorly handled. Ashley and Miranda are so damn annoying that I try to interact with them as little as possible. Jacob makes me want to slam my head through a wall with some of his dialogue. James is just so damn cliché, action hero lug head with predictable dialogue. Jack is about the only one that's somewhat tolerable and she's nuttier than a squirrel.

Shepard really had choice but to choose Liara IMO in the end. She's the only one that isn't a total ****** even if she went off the rails in ME2.

I just ignore several characters as much as possible. Miranda, Jacob, Liara, James (apart from fighting him, because it's fun. I wish there was a renegade interrupt to knock him out), Samara, never had Morinth, Ashley, Jack... Basically the only people who I talk to are Tali, Garrus, Grunt, Wrex, Legion and maybe one or two others.

SP discussion? I'll chime in.

I really wanted the Rannoch missions to be optional so that I could skip them and see the quarians die. I really do.

I don't do the Admiral Koris mission in my canon playthrough. I don't do the save quarian from varren mission in ME2 either. There are no options to kill a quarian in this game directly and I take every indirect way to do so.

I only do Tali's loyalty mission to increase her chances of survival and because she's the only quarian I can stand.

And when all those quarians boarded the Normandy, I wanted to kick them out one by one. The only quarian I like is Tali and my canon shepard (a fem shep) was a bit renegade towards her as well.

Edit: In the first ME2 mission with cerberus, I take Veetor with him and let cerberus mess him up. And when I meet him during Tali's loyalty mission, his reaction is priceless.

Edit 2: How could I forget this? When Tali says she got her squad killed by Geth on Haestrom, it was one of my favorite moments. I really wish Shepard had a renegade option there which was like, 'Lol, just what your race deserves'.

I disagree. Ashley can be grating but I liked her for the fact that she was actually a believable, human character. Plenty of people criticize her viewpoints, and I certainly don't agree with most of them, but I think that she represents a viewpoint that a lot of humans would be holding 30 or so odd years after being introduced into a previously unknown galactic community. Racism and ethnic/nationistic distrust is still quite prevalent in our own world despite the fact that we've been exposing ourselves to other cultures for thousands of years. Personally, I don't like really like Ashley, but I like her concept as a character.

Miranda is pretty shallow fanservice IMO, though plenty of dudebros like her and think she's the deepest thing ever. Jacob is simply uninteresting more than anything. James is a lot smarter than most people give him credit for IMO, but his character had to be fit around being the one that is supposed to introduce new players who hadn't bothered with the first two games.

No choice but Liara? I'm sorry, but I wouldn't trust the leader of a criminal spy ring that engages in political assasinations as far as I could throw her unless I knew her very, very well and thus believed her intentions, or was playing a video game where it doesn't matter if I end up getting some polonium in my diet for pissing her off anyway. That still leaves Garrus, Kaidan(quite an underrated character), Tali, Joker and Javik as confidants in the 3rd game (if that's what you're refering to, with Liara invariably serving as the best friend in that game).

What about Kal'Reegar?

He didn't have enough time to make an impact on me. Ya, he comes across as all stylish and whatnot, but he's just another quarian.

I don't let him die on Haestrom through.

You must still be really mad that I correctly pointed out frog thievery and rightfully deem Venom a scrub-tier gun for people who can't aim.

Thanks for bumping my thread tho, I guess. Your indignant antiquarian racism has backfired. Stay butthurt.

I have no idea what Ashley would be like in ME2 or 3. She -always- dies on Virmire. Kaidan is as exciting as valium but he knows when to shut up. Ashley's dialogue makes me cringe and her comments during cutscenes made me want to throw her out of an airlock. The moment I got the choice, I kicked her off the squad and only used her for the bomb on Virmire.

I don't know why BioWare always insists on making their strong female warriors into poets. Are they concerned that the characters need a more feminine side? Because they don't. They pulled the same **** with Cassandra. I had to leave the room while she read a poem to me, I can't stand this ****.

Umm, no?

I let Koris die in my SP playthrough, which was done well before I created a BSN account. My hatred for quarians has nothing to do with you talking sh*t about venom. It's an internet forum and you can post whatever you feel likt.

I just saw things about SP and my post was actually a response to N7 Penguin's post about how they would've liked to have a renegade option to knock characters out. I would like a similar option, but to extend that option to whole races and not just characters. I should've quoted that to make it clearer.

Note this: Not everyone who dislikes quarians wants to get into internet arguments. And not everything is about you.

please continue. I'd like to know more about your ignorance, irrational racism/misanthropy and easily manipulable emotional responses to quarian truth. Combined with my logical and objectively correct rebuttals, this has the potential to carry us to page 50 and beyond.

So let's get started with accessing the source of your butthurt. Point to on the doll where the mean quarian touched you.

Kaidan's okay. He's a really level headed and reasonable person, but I guess that's why so many find him boring.

As for the poetry, yeah, it's cringeworthy and doesn't fit the character. Mystery to me as well. Ashley develops worse than Kaidan too. They also tried to pretty her up in ME3 with a boobjob, haircut and botox, which was really lame.

I've kind of got a love hate thing with Quarians tbh.

They're kind of assholes, so they really deserve the bad things that happen to them. And I can say that because it's a video game.

Also I'm a Geth sympathizer so.

Kaidan's one of my favorites for that reason. He's just so nice. He doesn't agree with everything you do necessarily, but he's never a dick. Killing him off feels so very, very wrong. And that's why I decided never to save Ashley.

And I have no idea why they messed with Ash's appearance. One of the best things about her was that she wasn't sexualized. And they ruined that for no particular reason.

The quarians aren't nearly as bad as the salarians or asari even from a non-objective antiquarian racist standpoint. Their worst historical "mistakes" (lol, like you wouldn't shoot your toaster if it started talking and tried to burn down your house) pretty much only affects them.

Salarians are directly responsible for both the Rachni Wars and Krogan Rebellion, both of which killed waaay more people than the geth rebellion and of multiple species across the galaxy who had nothing to do with instigating them. Asari intentionally broke the laws they created about witholding Prothean technology with the VI that could have ended the Reaper war before it started, resulting once again in billions of unnecessary deaths for everyone in the galaxy. They both also do exactly the same thing with their own AI's as the quarians do with the geth, but actually succeed in killing them all because the synthetics aren't as integral to their society. It's not "genocide" if you succeed, apparently. Also, frogs are thieves and probably stole their AI tech from quarians anyway.

No one ever talks of kicking them off the Council, though.

The geth are harder for me, because I actually liked their concept initially. Their butchery via retcon from a ruthless, unknowably alien collective superorganism into frolicking, innocent peace loving pinnochios who just want to be individuals like all the organics did them a disservice and was the single worst example of writing in the entire trilogy. Their multiplayer counterparts finally pushed me into an unbridled hatred off all things robot.

Of course, species wide racist hatred of a society composed of individuals is irrational. I hate the lesser races because quarians are scientifically superior, and they just cause diseases for us. Much more reasonable.

I don't know how fair it is to blame the current Quarians for the utter fuckup their ancestors pulled with the Morning War. Because of that they had to live as nomadic outcasts who are stuck in their suits for all their life, I can understand that they are bitter and prejudiced now.

I do not believe the Quarians are saints or anything, far from it... but with some help from Space Jesus they see the light and become besties with the Geth again.

Indeed.

If those traitors hadn't betrayed their brothers and sisters of Rannoch by standing between righteous quarian bullets and uppity toasters, the situation would have been resolved quite easily. But they had to fuckup, and we all suffer for it.

least we managed to liquidate some of the traitors

LOL racists who collect oddities and curios? :P

But yes, agreed. Much of my enjoyment for the Quarians stems from their pariah status. Because they are hated, because they refuse to be held down. It's not me liking them out of sympathy, but for their militant defiance. They are constantly willing to challenge the Geth, which are feared by the Council races. They wear their suits as badges of honor. They face some of the worst challenges that any race has to deal with it and don't really get put down unless Shepard intervenes to help the Geth.

They're a society of winners, but they're cursed with a government that can't get its **** together.
